No, the embroidery isn't done yet. Soon, I promise. In the meantime, here's a little peep at another section I've been working on...
- Some of you might enjoy trying out some of THESE.
- Some things just boggle the mind....like THIS, for instance.
- THIS tutorial produces a rather interestingly shaped bag.
- THIS is a very pretty design that could translate into so many things.
- Some of you might find THIS chart of interest.
Today's quote is from Harvey MacKay....."Time is free, but it's priceless. You can't own it, but you can use it. You can't keep it, but you can spend it. Once you've lost it you can never get it back"
I am in awe of your talents! Your embroidery skills are a lost art! I recently snagged some beautifully embroidered vintage linens at an estate sale and can't imagine the hours these things took. Two are BEDSPREADS
ReplyDeleteoOOPS . . . HIT THE PUBLISH BUTTON BEFORE FINISHING . . . two I bought were bedspreads that were completely embroidered. I imagine in 'those days' gals were at home and there were less distractions like TV and internet so they spent their free time embroidering things to make their homes lovely and welcoming. Simpler times!
ReplyDeletePerhaps those bedspreads were made to put in a hope chest. Great find for you, for sure.
DeleteBeautiful stitching :)
ReplyDeleteThank you - must come from all the years of doing crazy quilts.
DeleteOh you do that silk ribbon thing--I have never done any--just thread embroideries...I love those flowers--so neat...
ReplyDeleteI began my first pages as the prompts came out this morning...I have to keep reminding myself that it is
"Slow Stitching"...hugs, Julierose
I don't always use silk ribbon because I've been guilty of hoarding my supply. Time to use things up and get rid of them!
DeleteGood progress
ReplyDeleteAbout quote, the time spent this morning, I don't want back. lol
Some days are like that (in not wanting the time back) but hopefully the good far outweighs the bad.
DeleteSherry of createology: Love your embroidery dear. Wonderful yarn chart. Time is precious and priceless!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sherry! I thought that yarn chart might prove handy at some point.
DeleteI enlarged your embroidery piece in the last post...your stitching is just beautiful. Love all the stitches in this piece too. Thanks for the links and quotes which I enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness - don't embiggen it too much because you're bound to see mistakes!!! Glad you enjoy the links and quotes.
DeleteSneak peaks really makes it seem the piece is going to be beautiful. Far more than just an old red bug.
ReplyDeleteJust have to hope the original photographer doesn't think I took TOO much liberty with his photo!
DeleteMore beautiful embroidery Mary Anne. Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine!
DeleteYour embroidery is so pretty. It looks fabulous against the wood wall. Now, this is a bit strange.....your little bag is one I pinned to my Pinterest board a couple of weeks ago. Isn't the little bag sweet??
ReplyDeleteGreat minds thinking alike? I found it on Pinterest too.
