So I've been putzing and not one bit of what I've done is of the least bit of interest to you. I know you were just sitting there wanting to know that I finished wrapping all but two gifts. You really wanted to know that I re-vamped a vest for Resident Chef so it fits him better. I know you were absolutely holding your breath to know that I blocked a wee sweater for the baby, a process which requires crawling about on the floor. I'm sure you REALLY wanted to know that I managed to get up off said floor. You also, I know, wanted to know that I made the label and sewed it on the back of the baby quilt. More importantly, I'm sure you had the knowing that I put a precious few stitches into the latest landscape high on your wish list.
AND....drumroll please....I know, beyond a shadow of any doubt whatsoever, that you are just sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to hear that I spent over an hour searching for pictures of
....wait for it.....
Gosh, I'm glad all your waiting is now over and you can go back to your regularly scheduled life. You're welcome.
- If you are gifting something like a couple of fat 1/4's to someone at Christmas have a look at THIS cute packaging idea.
- THESE would be so pretty on a tree - or used as a package topper - or even as little gift.
- And just for the sheer delight, have a scroll through THESE.
- If I was a sane quilter I would be SO tempted to make THIS (please note, link takes you to the PDF of the pattern)
- Once I discovered the snowman quilt, it led me to look to see what other free patterns are available - there's lots!
Instead of a quote, this came up on facebook and it made me laugh so I thought I'd share (there IS a wee bit of 'language' so be prepared)...
Hahaha! Definitely filed in "out of the mouths of babes!" You just never know what they'll say...ReplyDelete
I love that little birdie ornament--so cute--thanks for the linky.
I'm done with the last presents to be wrapped and mailed out. Not all that many as mostly my older grands and children like to get $$ cash to apend in the after-Christmas sales...
I ordered an emroidery sew-along kit from Kathy Schmitz as my present this year. It should make a lovely wall hanging when finished...that will be my new hand project for a while..
Yes, you never know what kids will say. I just have two presents left to wrap and I'm done.Delete
Looking forward to seeing your new wall hanging!
Outhouses huh? Looking forward to seeing the end result of that search - no pun intended. That snowman quilt is dreamy. I love the little mice dolls. I have no problem with mice used as decorations or subjects of cards but I've found that my "friends" are not so much to the liking, even if they are cute. Yup, honey lifesavers!ReplyDelete
End result - hah hah!!! I'd love that snowman quilt but not enough to make it myself.Delete
Now why on earth were you looking for pictures of outhouses????ReplyDelete
Being a fabric landscape artist has it's perks???Delete
Sounds as if you've been very productive, the kind that doesn't show very much. About the labels -- how do they happen? You make them, or order them? I know nuffink.ReplyDelete
I print them on the computer. Good quality white fabric pressed onto freezer paper and just run it through my printer. Then I press it really well with the iron to set the ink. I suppose, being that this will be washed, it might not have been the best choice for a label but we'll see. It's the way I do the label on the landscapes but they don't get thrown in the wash.Delete
Really? You accomplish more than I could ever do. I cannot even keep up with reading your blog. I love the Mice and Tilda everything.ReplyDelete
The only reason I accomplish as much as I do is because I can't simply sit and do nothing. I try, because supposedly it's good for you to spend some time being idle....it lasts maybe ten minutes and I get antsy.Delete
You are always so productive, so I am definitely not surprised that the list of accomplishments is so long. Ha Ha, on your getting up off the floor! I love that the baby is getting another sweater. By the time it gets here it is going to be the best dressed baby ever. When is it due?ReplyDelete
I love making baby things so it's certainly no hardship. Couple that with the fact that this one is a wee little girl (first in the family for many years) makes it doubly fun.Delete
oops - meant to tell you, she's due the end of January.Delete
Lovely links, all enticing. I do like Lorraine's - "no pun intended" Pun or not it's very funny. Kids come up with funny outbursts at time- love the lifesaver one.ReplyDelete
YEs, I don't know which made me laugh more - the joke or Lorraine's pun.Delete
It sounds as though you have been very busy Mary Anne even if there isn't much to show us! Those sorts of jobs are all very useful! Loved your share from FB.... made me laugh! Have a great weekend! Hugs Christine xxxReplyDelete
Laughter is something we all need more of I think so I couldn't resist sharing that one.Delete
I'm VERY impressed with you. Getting up off the floor is a major achievement.ReplyDelete
Indeed it is!!Delete
OMG, this was a grrrrreat post! From your humorous intro to the links (the Tilda quilts!!!) to the hilarious joke - Bruce and I had a great laugh over that! Thanks for brightening my day! xoReplyDelete
Well, I aim to please so glad you enjoyed it!Delete
