Remember that pile of 'mystery' I showed you before Christmas? Well, I had a special request from Daughter-In-Love #2 for some Asian-themed felt foods for our grandies to play with. How could I refuse? Here's the results (there's at least 5 pieces of each food, sometimes 10, but I'm not showing you the entire lot).
and some closeups....
Today's quote is from A.A. Milne..."Piglet noticed that even though he had a very small heart, it could hold a rather large amount of gratitude"
What a wonderful grandma, making these great food items celebrating the grands heritages. I love this.
ReplyDeleteI like it too - now they'll have both food cultures to play with. I made enough of each thing so that the whole family can have a choice to 'eat'. Now just have to find some steamer containers to go along with.
DeleteOh so cute! I hope you are staying warm now that winter is settling in.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of hibernation!
DeleteOh how fun and this faux Asian food looks good enough to eat. Great job Grandma! How sweet are Piglet and Pooh!!! Happy Healthy New Year 2022.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the grandies will be happy with it. They play with the other felt foods I made them so I expect likely these will be welcomed too.
DeleteHappy 2022 to you as well!
Wow, what a great idea. You did good work.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you Jackie - I had altogether too much fun making these!
DeleteWhat a great idea. Glad you came through for them - they look scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteThey'd be pretty dry eating I think!
DeleteSo creative! Great job on the food pieces.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy - they were sure fun to make!
DeleteWhat a Super G'mother you are Mary Anne. The Asian food is so fabulous for the little ones to play with. They may ask The Chef to make some real ones to taste. Love the Milne quote.
ReplyDeleteThank you (blushing furiously)....I'd like to think I'm a good grandma. Hard to love on them from such a distance. As for Resident Chef - IF we get to go out to visit them in Feb. he's hoping our daughter-in-love will teach him some recipes.
DeleteThese are fabulous Mary Anne and how lovely for them to be able to choose foods from different backgrounds. Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteOur daughter-in-love is Taiwanese so it's nice that the kids will have something that reflects that culture to go along with the foods I already made for them.
DeleteWhat fun, they all turned out great!
ReplyDeleteHopefully they're realistic enough for the kids to recognize them!
DeleteYour play food is terrific. The grands are going to love playing with those. :) And how cute is that puppy pillow in the first ink!
ReplyDeleteOur daughter-in-love is of Asian descent so it will be fun for our grandies to have foods that reflect that culture.
