A finished finish? But then again....

Well, those of you who have been holding your breath waiting for the reveal of the landscape will just have to wait a teeny bit longer.  There has been much avail made of the stitch ripper and much 'discussion' with the sewing machine regarding my insistence that I truly DO want to use invisible thread.  At the moment it remains to be seen just which one of us is more stubborn than the other.

So....instead of THAT finish, how about another one?  A wee baby sweater using leftover yarn and gifted buttons.

and a close up of the buttons...

  2. What a sweet little sweater..... and those buttoms are perfect there! I've seen postings on FB about finding a quilted heart. I will have to delve into that a little more after the holidays.

    1. Those buttons were simply too sweet not to use on something for the baby. I might try making some hearts after Christmas - sounds like a fun project.

    1. I enjoyed seeing the crochet projects too although some of them were a bit odd.

    Hi Mary Anne,
I love the hearts idea. Last year, when so many folk were in hospital with Covid, we made pairs of little hearts (I used felt and in bright colours) and they were given to the local hospital where one of the pair was given to the sick person and the other was given to a member of their family, to know that they are loved.
Love the little cardigan - and the buttons! Hope you have a lovely Christmas - stay safe and stay well.

    1. Thanks Joy - they were a gift and the yarn itself was left over from another project so a win/win all around.

    1. The kids aren't fans of the traditional colours for babies so I think they'll like this - and the buttons are just plain fun.

    1. Invisible thread is a brute no matter what but for some reason it was giving me extra trouble this time. The buttons made up for the thread angst for sure.

  9. Well, I guess if we have to wait to see the finished landscape quilt, a sweet little cheerful red sweater with frog prince buttons is a good substitute. It's cute as can be, Mary Anne. :)

    1. Thank you Becki - I had to do something to use those fun buttons and a red sweater just seemed to fit, at least within the confines of my stash anyway.

    1. I've done that sweater pattern before and it's one of my favourites. Suits my knitting capabilities anyway. The buttons were just a fun add-on.

  11. Wonderful cardigan, with so cute buttons. It will be loved. I like all your links, especially the crochet gecko and Random Acts ideas. Not too long now until Santa arrives.

    1. I'd love a red sweater just like this for myself (altho, maybe I'd pass on the Frog prince buttons!)
