8, 9 - and fodder

After my rant yesterday about the post office I suppose I should somewhat eat my words because he did deliver the fabric you'll see in the pictures below.  I had to go and collect the yarn shipment though so I'm still a tad miffed.  At any rate, I have some fodder for further creativity....

This pile will be turned into a blanket, a wee dress, a sweater, a toy and something else that has yet to identify itself....all for our new baby that will be arriving in January.

These will become three pillowcases ( fabrics in the back) and the pretty bunny fabric that is SOOO incredibly soft will be the backing for a baby quilt - front of which is yet to be determined!  Don't know if you can tell, but there's also teeny flutter-byes flying amongst the bunnies.

Proving that my hands haven't been idle, here are #8 and 9 of the latest cross stitcheries....

Today's quote...."The funny thing about getting older is your eyesight starts getting weaker but your ability to see through people gets much better"

  1. You always find interesting things go show us! No on the planters! But the little house is very cute
And your ambition for the new baby stuns me. Also the fact that you will achieve all of it!

    1. Glad you think my finds might be somewhat of interest. And I'm a no on the planters too.
As for the new baby things, I take Grandma-hood very seriously!

Doll heads, some creepy, some not

    1. The little tree is one of my favourites - at least so far. And I know I won't be searching out any doll heads anytime soon!

  4. What cute fabric for baby things. Such soft colours of yarn will be absolutely perfect for baby items.

Love 8, and 9 cross stitch as well.

    God bless.

    1. Our kids don't want the traditional 'pink' for the baby and I must say I'm relieved. Never have been a fan of girlie pink!

  5. Your yarn colors are so beautiful, especially the Simply Soft.

    1. I really like working with Simply Soft although I know some people complain that it splits. It's not a huge issue for me so I use it a lot. SO much better than the Red Heart equivalent, that's for sure!

  6. Such cute fabrics! I’m drooling here. On the doll head planters, I think the trolls are cute enough (I’ve always loved them!) but the rest are creepy. So many other cute things to plant greenery in!

    1. Sounds like it's pretty much unanimous that the doll head planters are creepy. And I agree that there are lots of other much nicer things to hold plants.

    1. I hadn't seen that particular version of EPP before and it does look intriguing.

  8. Some of the planters are creepy, some are fun. Some of them would be creepy without plants sprouting out of them. And um... the torso-less one was definitely in the creepy, sick-o category. But somehow I appreciate the thought that might have gone into it. Maybe... Love your cute fabrics, and I embiggened the picture to see the cute flutterbyes in the bunny fabric. Adorable.

    1. I agree - some of those planters could be classed as fun but the majority are just plain creepy.
Glad you could see the flutter-byes!

  10. Looking forward to seeing some of these planned projects. I like the troll planters but the others - not so much. That quote is a keeper.

  11. I love the soft green/pink yarn and the x stitched tree. The Fantastic ornament - not a common or garden variety- is drool worthy. The little pincushion houses would be great to keep or use as presents.
    Another good quote today.

    1. I'm liking that yarn too but it certainly doesn't work well for crochet - not because of the yarn itself, but the colour switches are too close together and it just ends up looking muddy....so, knit it is. I like those little pincushion houses - might be tempted into attempting to make one (or several).

    2. It seems I have missed your exciting news! A little granddaughter early next year; how wonderful, Mary Anne❣️ Lots of sweet little girl pretties to make. Loving your new little Advent calendar cross stitch pretties. They are adorable.

    3. Yes, we're expecting a wee girl sometime in January - first girl in a long while in our family so we're pretty excited. I'm going to have to learn to create little girlie things for a change!
