A sad lack

Yes there's a sad lack of anything to show you today.  I'm working on the second advent calendar and should finish it today but not picture-worthy yet.  You don't want to see my pile of mending that's waiting for attention either.  So, just to have something to show you, how about the pile of mittens that's steadily growing.  I'm 'adjusting' two or three patterns together to make one that I'm happy with and the ones on the bottom left are probably destined to be redone somewhat.  I don't like the pointy tips and prefer a more rounded shape.

    1. I don't think I'll be making that squirrel either but it did catch my eye.

  3. well pointy or not I'll bet someone will be happy to be wearing them when the cold hits. I was just looking around my house and realizing it's time to get my Fall Decor out.......I usually keep it up til the day after Thanksgiving then all my Christmas stuff comes out.

    1. I think I can reverse knit the 'pointy bit' and reknit - provided I can find where I buried the ends!

  4. Great work on the mittens Mary Anne and I loved the crocheted flowers! I may well need to make one of those hats this year especially, as I know I will be getting a cold head this winter! Wink, wink!! Christine xx

    1. Yes, you might need a hat Christine. I hate wearing them but I suspect this winter might change my mind. I hate being cold more than I dislike hats.

    1. Thanks Joy. Mittens aren't hard to do - mostly mindless knitting.

  6. The pointy mittens are in the same vein as the squirrel. Not sure about either of them. I think the pointiness will round down with wear, though. Of course you could attach a jingle bell..:)

    1. Hah - a jingle bell - that would be worth the laugh! Don't suppose the guys would be very happy about it though. I'm planning to reverse knit the 'pointy' part, provided I can find the sewn-in ends and unravel. If not, I'll just make another pair.

  7. You certainly stay busy and get a lot done. Mending reminds me of the shoe cobbler story or the carpenter always taking care of everyone else's needs and repairs before their own.

    1. I can't stand sitting around doing nothing so that's why I get so much done I guess. I spend the days sewing and the evenings usually knitting.
