Today I have a two 'fer one special going on (two projects 'fer one post...hah hah). First of all, I made a couple produce bags....
Stash fabric, but I purchased the mesh which is the 'stuff' you use when lining bathing suits and such. Don't know what it's called though!
And...another pair of the generic socks that will be going in the Christmas box....
Pair 5 of 9
Regia sock yarn
Well, for once,I'm getting ahead in my on-line blog readings!! I've been thinking of making produce bags too. Nice job on them.
ReplyDeleteProduce bags are becoming more and more necessary I think, and having pretty ones is just an added incentive to actually use them.
DeleteHi Maryanne ,great idea the produce bags and they look fantastic and love the socks, well done my friend xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheryl. This has been dubbed the year of the sock!
DeleteI love the produce bags! Those would be useful for so many things. And lovely socks, again, Mary Anne. RE: links... I found the pincushion chair impressive. I'm not sure who I'm more impressed with, though - the original maker of it, or the gal who took it apart to create a new one and make a tutorial for how to make one. A whole lot of work that was, but what a fun and cute little project!
ReplyDeleteI made a chair pincushion many years ago (pattern is long gone of course...as is the pincushion) but it wasn't nearly as pretty as this one and I don't remember it opening up either. As for the produce bags - I think they're the way of the future. We have to stop our use of plastic and that's one way to help with that. They're fun to make too, so that's an added bonus. There will be more going in the Christmas box I think!
DeleteI bought a set of handmade mesh produce bags from a blogger a few years ago, and I do use them when I remember to put them in my insulated shopping bag! Very handy for the goats' apples. Sometimes I misplace them because they look very similar to my "fine laundry" mesh bags, but eventually I sort them out and start over :)
ReplyDeleteI thought of making the produce bags out of just mesh and thought they would be easily confused with laundry bags so I opted to add the fabric to make them stand out. Guess I was onto a good thing!
DeleteThe produce bags are great. And love the quote today :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen. Nice to have pretty produce bags, but now to train the brain to remember to actually take them with me!
