Over the next little while there just might be a few baby-ish things appearing here at Chez Magpie...and this is the start of one of them....
Why, you might ask?
Well...there's a wee little 'grand' bundle of joy
to love making an appearance
in our lives come the end of January.
So...what's a grandma to do but make things?
Those face scrubbies are a small version of the face cloths I've been knitting and using for years. They're great for skin, gentle. And when they're old they become floor cloths. They don't seem to wear out ever. I make them to try out new stitches, as well as to use them. I can't imagine giving them as gifts, though, always seems a bit rude, like, here, go take a shower!
ReplyDeleteHaving a good chuckle out of gifting face scrubbies and having people think they're being nudged into taking a shower. Thank you for that!
DeleteDifferent issue: wonderful news about the baby. Is it the local son or the west coast one?
ReplyDeleteThe west coast family -alas so far away in order to get baby snuggles and hugs!
ReplyDeleteLove your crochet! Aaah, shame baby will be so far away from you ..... lots of travelling on the cards!
ReplyDeleteActually I would use the scrubbies, I’ve been thinking of making some .... thank you for the link!
My reason for buying fabric is to keep the shops open! But I like the one about insulating the cupboard, oh, and No 7. tee hee!
Hugs,
Barbara xx
Yes, it's hard when 'grands' live so far away. Thank goodness for Skype but it's not the same as being able to have real live hugs and kisses. Glad you enjoyed the reasons for buying fabric and thanks for the 'vote' regarding the scrubbies.
DeleteHow exciting!
ReplyDeleteHah - exciting that there's something to show here besides landscapes - or about the baby?! Definitely baby!!
DeleteCongratulation Grandma & Family!
ReplyDeleteThank you! We're really excited because we truly didn't think there would be any more.
DeleteHi Maryanne oh wow what wonderful news congrats to you all and I love the colours you are using, hope you have a wonderful weekend my friend xx
ReplyDeleteYes, most definitely wonderful news! We've known for awhile but were sworn to secrecy until now. It came as a surprise to us because we thought they were stopping at one.
DeleteCongratulations on a NEW BABY!!
ReplyDeletexx, Carol
Oh yes, we're pretty over the moon about it, especially when we weren't thinking there would be any more. Now Grandma has to kick it up a notch so she can deal with both Christmas 'makings' AND baby goodies....not a bad problem to have!!
DeleteCongrats on the upcoming birth of another grandchild! I look forward to seeing what you make for him/her. Love the little wire pictures (in the fifth link). Those are so sweet! And the street (or urban, or was it "wall"?) cross stitch is pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteYes, we're all pretty excited about a new grandbaby to love! And as for that cross stitch - I can't imagine actually doing it, but would love to see it for myself.
DeleteCongratulations to all! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Quinn - we're pretty happy about it. Didn't think we were going to have any more 'grands' so this is a really wonderful surprise.
DeleteYes, congratulations! Crochet baby blankets are useful, warm and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting a new one for a new grand baby coming in November.
Thanks for the reminder on why buying fabric is a good thing, I'm smiling.
Congratulations to you too! Ours is due the end of January.
DeleteCongratulations on the new baby in the new year!!
ReplyDeleteNew babies are a wonderful thing - even though this one is clear across the country.
