MAGPIE'S MUMBLINGS

A blog about my interests, which include fabric landscapes and various and assorted other artsy pursuits and sometimes known to contain mumblings of a random nature.

Alas....

....I don't have much to show you today, but I do have a few extra mumblings that I wanted to share.

The only picture I have shows the project I finished up late last week.  One of my friends spearheads a knitting group at her church and they often produce knitted squares that need to be put together into either a lap robe or an afghan.  Unfortunately none of her  friends knows how to crochet, so I get enlisted to crochet them together.  This is supposed to be the last one they'll be doing and perhaps it's a good thing.    It's such fun to try to make a square that measures 8 x 11" (which some of them did) end up small enough to 'marry' with the rest.  It's done, but it's certainly not a thing of beauty!

A word of warning - if you receive an email claiming to be from 'Account Security' at Microsoft Outlook stating that they are discontinuing support - it's a hoax.  Do NOT open it and by all means don't do what they ask!!  I got the email and was suspicious enough to check into it before I clicked and I'm so happy I did.  It pays to have a suspicious nature when it comes to the internet!!

Your quote today is an anonymous one and is in honour of Halloween...."This witch can be bribed with chocolate"

and that can be said of a lot of us!

Happy Halloween!!

  2. With all the knitters I am surprised you are the only one who crochets...or you are the only one willing to do this job. LOL. You have shared quite a few really great gift ideas...thank you. I adore the little felted house sachets. My sister is also allergic to lavender so I use Cinnamon or Cloves for her sachets. Chocolate is Divine!!! Blessings Dear...xo

  3. How wonderful of you to crochet the blocks together! (I wouldn't use lavendar either. I love it, but it triggers allergy induced asthma. Sigh... Perhaps it is a good thing my husband is allergic to it, too. I'd probably grow some anyway because I like it so much - lol!)

  6. I'm surprised the knitters didn't use the 'invisible' stitch for putting the blocks together! My two cents worth. Thanks for the links.

  9. I am also the Queen of suspicion when it comes to the internet....and I often think, these people who create a virus or other threat are obviously very intelligent. Why don't they put their skill to GOOD use....

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
