Hot, hot, hot

Yes, it`s hot  cool.  Perhaps if I *think* cool it will happen!

This was the activity going on in our kitchen this afternoon....

This is the first stage of a new backsplash and is currently drying for a few days before putting the grout in to finish it off.  Jack (DH) and our friend John spent the afternoon in our hot little kitchen doing this.

I, on the other hand, spent the afternoon in my studio working on my ledger classwork.  This picture shows what I did the end of last week (today`s effort isn`t ready to show yet)....

Who knew you could stitch on tissue paper!!

  8. Hi Mary Anne this work is looking fantastic! Stitching on tissue paper?
Sounds cool - never tried that but only on serviettes which is similar and worked very well after using gesso on it!
Thanks for your kind comment about my studio!

  10. He not only cooks great pies but he does tile work too? MA you are spoiled. Kidding aside it looks great. I need to have one done in my Florida kitchen. Maybe you can send Jack down for a holiday.

Your tissue paper turned out great. Mine was too thick and a disaster. I must try again with a lighter paste. I am still lagging way behind on this course. May never catch up.
