Let me see....
what do you suppose I should ask you to do?
hmmmmmmmm......
I KNOW!!!!
I would like you to leave a comment on this post telling me what your favourite flower is and why. That's not too hard, is it? Two names will be drawn on Wednesday night and two winners will each receive an envelope of goodies in the mail. Good luck!

So sorry, I haven't visited for a while and when I do you are having a giveaway! Is it naughty of me to enter?
ReplyDeleteMy favourite flower (I have many, so this is hard!) is probably honeysuckle for it's heady scent of summer. It reminds me of summer hedgerows and walking country lanes. I also adore lilac (again for the scent) which instantly transports me back to being a schoolgirl and also overblown roses for the sheer romance of them
Thank you I enjoyed your question
Have a lovely weekend

Hey Sister Magpie,
ReplyDeleteMy favorite flower would have to be the Peony. My grandmother had a formal garden about 20'x20' with brick walkways and nothing but peonies. When they bloomed it was heavenly. The only thing I don't like is they just don't last very long. A old fashioned rose would be a close second. Dried roses last forever and I love that. Hope I win that giveaway of yours.
Debbie
My favorite flower is the wild rose for its perfume with lilacs a close second.
ReplyDeleteHi, My favorite flower is the Lilac. It's smell and beauty make my heart happy. My favorite color is purple and when the Lilacs are in bloom so is my heart filled with their beautiful scent and joy!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this chance! Happy 4th of July to you and your family! I hope that you have a safe and wonderful day!
Hugs...
Bobbi
My favorite flower...oh my....I think it has to be a bleeding heart. I used to have them at my previous house, mother always had them, my grandmothers and greatgrandmothers had them....they are so beautiful an charming quivering in the breeze! And the shade of pink/rose on them is unmatched in anything else gardenwise. They almost look unreal, so perfect!
ReplyDeleteXXOO!!

Hey MA!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite flower would be the rose. I'm quite partial to the heady scents of the David Austin roses, but any rose will do in a pinch!
Hi My favorite flower is Violets, that are tiny, petite, lovely and it was my Mothers name and she was the est Mom ever, you can see her pic's on my blog under past posts for Mothers Day and I posted pic's of her from youth to older, she was born in 1908, entered Heaven 1988. On my Blog Header is a pic of her baby dress and an antique doll wearing one of her other dresses. There is also a post of her high button shoes from about 1912 on my left sidebar. I'm so blessed to have been handed down these treasures. Just thought it would be fun to share that with you! XOXO PS In case you forgot I'm the one who married a fellow Canadian, he is on my blog post also.
ReplyDeleteI love so many of them but I would have to say that my all time favorite would be the rose. Maybe all the different types and colorations are what I like but I would take any kind any time.

My favorite flower is a tulip because they are such a sturdy flower but still beautiful and colorful.
ReplyDeleteOk..MA...I will let you know my fav flower. I have seen your paper stash and wouldn't squeal if I won some! LOL I love pansys. They come in so many colours and right now I am enjoying making them from butterfly punches. Truth is I can't stop!! I also think they have sweet faces and are so very vintage.

My favourite flower is a yellow daffodil. One of the first flowers to poke their head up in the springtime to signal the start of the growing season.

MY favorite flower is whatever one I happen to be looking at. But, if there are no flowers in sight, then..oh, I still can't pick. So I will say that my favorite flowers are purple, or orange...I'm bad.
ReplyDeleteWell, I just won a giveaway here and don't expect to win again, but I will tell you that my favorite flower is the hibiscus. I just planted 4 and they are already so beautiful, after all the rain we received from Hurricane Alex.
ReplyDeleteHello Magpie would love to have interesting paper, I also want to thank you for visiting my blog , just to let you know I'm a fellow Ontarion, I live in Hamilton.
ReplyDeleteSorry I forgot to mention my favourite flower is Bleeding hearts my Mother always had them growing by our front steps and I've done the same. Thanks Linda aka so-crazy.
ReplyDeletefavourite flower is the daylilley. Just keeps on doing its stuff every year without making trouble for anyone and comes in a vast choice of species.
ReplyDeleteAww you are so sweet in regards to my kitten Coconut! She's such a sweetie I think anyone would fall deep :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun giveaway. A surprise envelope too...hmm, My most favorite flower is the lavender rose called Lavonda. They smell heavenly!! I also like lilacs and stargazer lilies for their scents. I am a romantic at heart so I prefer the softer shades and looks of peonies and sweet peas but I honestly like all colors.
I have fond memories of my late Grandmother who would flood her home with fresh flowers. She grew so many of them to both paint and decorate with. Who knew flowers could have so many uses?! I am so grateful for her example of beauty. She would even bring in fallen pine needles and other such ones we think of as cast offs. So creative!
Enjoy your long holiday weekend!

My very favorite flower is the gladiolus. So pretty and colorful in the garden and they make such a beautiful, large bouquet for the kitchen table. (I also love little snapdragons which look like baby glads.) Of course, all flowers rock!
ReplyDeletehmmm...favorite flower is the dinner-plate dahlia because it is so big, bright and almost magical looking! can't get mine to bloom well in years...but I keep trying! one year they were the size of my head! also love roses for the scent! have a great day, xo natalea
ReplyDeleteI think I missed you on the WBC2. I don't recall such a happy blog site. Anyway, would love to be entered in the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite flower used to be pansies, but I've just discovered peonies and they are my idea of heaven. Too bad they don't grow here :(
My favorite flower...there are so many but I would have to say lavendar. I love the gray green color and the small purple flowers, but I often dont let them open so I can dry them. Because, of course, the best thing about lavendar is the scent! Thanks for having a giveaway!
