Yep, I've gone off on a different tangent and decided I'd create a few flower coasters using the tutorial found HERE.

AND...
- There's an interesting discussion HERE around pricing handmade articles vs. big box store prices. I ran into this the other day when I was surfing the 'net and came across a Canadian artist who does similar work to mine (but without the addition of the hours of embroidery I often add) and must admit I was astounded when I saw that she was asking $1800 and up...and many of her pieces were marked as being sold. She certainly must travel in more exalted circles than I do, that's for sure!
- Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best as THIS might attest!
- There are some cute Easter bunny designs HERE.
- Although there doesn't seem to be any links towards the patterns for THESE, there are several that are awwwww-worthy to see.
Today's quote...

Wow--20 years--congrats for giving us a fascinating array of links to art and artists and your own wonderful art pieces...

Yes, who knew I could natter on for all of 20 years!
DeleteVery cute coasters! I just use a paper towel, although I do have some pretty ones that mom made for me.
ReplyDeleteWe use slate/stone coasters we've had for likely more than twenty years. These will be for little Christmas gifts at some point I think.
DeleteSherryofcreateology: I adore your coasters. I have a gift idea in mind for my watercolor tribe so I thank you dear. Such adorable bunnies you have linked. No my items I create are always gifted and not sold since I don’t run in those high dollar circles either. Wonderful quote once again. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteI would like to sell more landscapes, if only for the standpoint of paying for new supplies to create more. I can't imagine anything I do being worth THAT much though!
DeleteI really, really love that quote! Think about others! It will get your mind off your own troubles!! xx
ReplyDeleteI agree - and glad you liked the quote.
DeleteOH! And 20 years of blogging, good for you! I think your writing is wonderful. Keep it up. xx
ReplyDeleteYes, twenty years of blogging is so hard for me to believe. I never thought, going into it, that I would ever last that long, nor did I think I would have so many followers and lovely people who comment.
DeleteBeautiful coasters. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda - they're fun (and easy) to make.
DeleteThose are cute coaster.
ReplyDeleteThey're fun to make so I couldn't resist (and besides - they use up some stash).
DeleteWhat cute coasters! Hope this means you are getting your creative mojo back! I just love that quote there. So true but we drift far, far from those principles sadly.
ReplyDeleteYes, while I've been making coasters my mind has been turning over what the next landscape will be and how to create what I'm thinking about.
DeleteI’m so glad I read your first post. I feel that way too. You captured my feeling perfectly. Love your blog Laura
ReplyDeleteThank you Laura - welcome to my corner of the world.

ReplyDeleteI've met so many wonderful people in the blogging world and you're certainly one of them!
DeleteCongratulations on your 20th blogging anniversary. Love the coasters.
