Yes, I'm in the beginning stages of a new landscape but nothing worth showing you as yet. So...another pair of socks came off my needles and are heading for the Christmas box...
Usual pattern using Paton's Kroy yarn.
- I came across THIS listing and it reminded me of doing this type of craft probably back in the 60's. Wonder if it will enjoy a resurgence?
- Have a peek through the galleries of THIS artist!
- Although there are no instructions to make any of THESE I really enjoyed the breath of spring I felt while I looked through them. Perhaps you could use some of the pictures for inspiration.
- THIS looks like it would be a fun process...albeit probably a tad messy! Has me wondering how it would work on fabric.
Today's quote is from Reba McEntire..."To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone, and a funny bone"

Oh, yes -- smocked gingham! I made two popover tops (smocks, I guess) when I was in college. One for me and one for my friend Sharon. Thanks for the memory!
ReplyDeleteI made pillow covers for everyone on my Christmas list that year and I think I made some aprons too.
DeleteLovely socks, they look nice and warm--we can sure use that these days!! Hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThese are being put away for next Christmas so I guess the weather will be good for them then too.
DeleteI never did smocking. Probably remembered it too well from childhood, not a fave.
ReplyDeleteI remember my mother doing a form of it using satin and making fancy pillows but I always used gingham.
DeleteI love your socks!!! Beautiful colours and pattern.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the recipient will like them!
DeleteThose socks look extra soft and cozy. And a nice color, too!
ReplyDeleteNot my colour, but I know that it's perfect for the recipient.
Deletemy mom made a gingham pillowcase with that technique - yellow with black floss ... and now i have Barbra Streisand singing Memories on repeat in my head...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the ear worm!!
DeleteLook at you adding to the Christmas box. Love the colour of them.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
These aren't my colours but I think the person I made them for will like them.
