Marbles? Lost or found?

PLEASE NOTE:  My ability to respond to your comments is for some reason messed up so until I get it sorted, some of my responses may show up as being from that elusive 'Anonymous'

Ok folks, the landscape has made a bit of a leap forward and here is where it stands now...

I was putzing around on the internet looking for ideas and came across the colouring page of the hand and it wouldn't let go of my brain.  At the same time the title of 'In the palm of His hand' came to mind.  Some people will see the tree as being based in a pile of rocks and it's only upon further inspection that they will notice that it's a hand.  There are two ways I am looking at this - either it's a reflection of my faith and the thought that God is holding us all in the palm of his hand...or it could be thought of as being somewhat political with the hope that He is indeed keeping us in his care throughout these troubled times.  The RC, upon seeing what I was doing, raised his eyebrows and shook his head.  Not for the first time.

- Perhaps you'd like to make one of THESE.

- If you enjoy thrift shopping, perhaps one of the ideas found HERE might be of interest.

- I couldn't resist sharing THIS one - if only so you can see the cute little kitten!

- Maybe you and a friend (or two) might like to treat yourselves to an afternoon tea in which case perhaps something found HERE might be what you'd enjoy.

Today's quote is from Bob Marley..."You will never find justice in a world where criminals make the rules"

  1. The landscape is coming together. We told you so! I quite fancy some of those afternoon tea sandwiches, with or without company. Noted!

MA here - I'm not sure what's going on with my leaving comments in reply to yours, but will go this route until I figure it out. I thought some of the sammies looked pretty interesting too.

  2. I’m undecided how I feel about the unexpected hand. Maybe because I see hand before rocks.
    The quote fits politics perfectly.

MA here - see above response to Boud's comment. I'm glad you told me about the indecision about the hand...I wondered about it but decided to just go with it.

  3. I also see the hand as an environmental statement--if you tend to the political??? Interesting addition....I find it very thought provoking...hugs for a good weekend...Julierose

MA here - yes, I was hoping for that reaction! Sometimes it's easy to do the same ol' thing, but it's good to shake things up once in awhile.

  6. I love the hand. I really hope He is holding all of us and all of nature in the palm of his hand. My faith says he is, but I sometimes wonder now.

    God bless.

Sherryofcreateology: I noticed the hand of God holding the tree right away. I like it very much. We all need The hand of God holding us up right now more than ever. Great links dear. I adore tea sandwiches and living here we have no tea houses that offer tea and goodies to nibble. I really miss my days of tea with the ladies where I used to live. It was always such a special treat! Please stay safe and warm.

Thank you Sherry - I'm still not sure about what I'm doing with this one but I'm carrying on anyway. And I agree - we do need the hand of God.
Maybe you could do your own tea with a friend or two?

  11. Yesterday I went to a memorial service for a long-time family friend*. On Eagle's Wings was the closing hymn and it ends with "make you to shine like the sun / and hold you in the palm of his hand." *I've known her since I was 11.

So sorry about your friend. I think we all need to be held in the palm of His hand right now.

  12. I've been living on cheese sandwiches lately, so all those fresh-looking cucumber sandwiches made my mouth water. There were no cucumbers from my garden last year, so I'm hoping for a much better cucumber harvest in 2026.

I love cucumber sandwiches any time of the year. The RC makes an 'immitation' Boursin cheese using kefir and it's wonderful with cucumbers. Mmmm....mouth is definitely watering right along with you!

I try to come up with something different for every landscape I do, whether it be technique or subject matter. Sometimes it works better than others!

    1. When I saw the hand coloring page it weighed heavily on my heart that it needed to be part of the landscape, if only to serve as a reminder that He is in control.
