Remember that pile of fabrics I showed you on Friday? Well, I've turned them into the beginning of another landscape (sorry about the basting stitches, but you get the general idea). Sadly, the fact that I added a layer of shimmery organza over top of the 'lights' doesn't really show in a photo.
- THIS might be a fun little project and useful too.
- THIS would be too!
- Many of us remember doing THIS back in the day - nice to see a cute little project that would be nice for Valentine's.
- There are a number of great tips for organizing your crafting space HERE.
Today's quote is from Nelson Mandela..."A nation should not be judged by how it treats its highest citizens, but it's lowest ones"

Northern lights! It is beautiful!

I wish I had brighter fabrics in my stash but I refuse to buy anything if I don't have to, so this will have to do. It does shimmer in the light after I added the organza though.
DeleteIs this a northern lights piece? I like those bold curves.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's supposed to be northern lights - or as close as I can come with what I have to work with.
DeleteI really like your new curvey piece--Northern Lights--I'll bet that shimmery organza adds a whole lot of sparkle....beautiful arrangement on this one...
ReplyDeleteWell, we got over a foot of snow now encrusted with a good 2" of ice!! What a mess!! Our snow guy has plowed us out twice already and has yet to deal with our front walkway...hugs, Julierose;)))
Oh my - please stay warm and safe! We escaped the huge snowfall that came down in Toronto and south of them...we got some, but not what was predicted. Ice is so scary and after what happened to us last winter, we don't want a repeat of the experience.
DeleteThis is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda!
DeleteSherryofcreateology: MA Dear your Northern Lights look fantastic! You are amazing! Great idea to add the shimmery organza. This quote of Nelson Mandela speaks volumes and reminds me what a boss of mine once shared with me. Always treat the Janitor the same as the President of the company. I have always followed that advice. We are all equal. Blessings…
ReplyDeleteI agree wholeheartedly - we ARE all equal and should be treated as such. I'm having fun with my northern lights, for sure.
DeleteWow, this is just perfect as we have been able to see the Northern Lights more and more across Canada.
ReplyDeleteMandela was a great man.
God bless.
I've seen pictures of the amazing northern lights but sadly our apartment faces east and we can't see them unless we get in the car and drive out of town...not something we've done because there's still no guarantee that they'd be visible.
DeleteOooh that looks pretty! That quote from Mandela is very fitting for today's world...xx
ReplyDeleteNorthern Lights! Fun! Last year they were seen several times even further south than we are in central Indiana. Unfortunately, north of us are the lights of our small town, and then two larger cities further north. I don't think have any hope of ever seeing them where we live.
ReplyDeleteNot much hope of us seeing them here either, unless we get in the car and drive north and it's a crap shoot whether it might be too cloudy, or if they're on display at all. I just rely on pictures everybody else post on facebook.
