Here are a few more that caught my eye from the quilt show...
This one was stitched with metallic threads and had lots of crystals too. Hard to get a decent photo that shows the sparkle.
This one (below) was done with felted wool...lots of fun details!
- Perhaps you'd like to make one of THESE to wear in the summer sun.
- THIS is an awww-worthy thing!
- THESE are rather cute.
- I think I showed you one of these before, but HERE are good instructions to make your own.
Today's quote..."I hate when people say "You don't owe anyone anything." Actually no, I think as a bare minimum, we owe each other basic human kindness and respect"
I really like the first one...that is my style of design and colour...I love using black and strong colours
ReplyDeleteI really wish the camera would have picked up the sparkle in that one. I tried for a close up but even that didn't show it. The back was equally as shimmery.
DeleteI like the blue, the pink and the one with the trees. I love the Canadian flag and the quote at the end of your post.
ReplyDeleteThere were so many great quilts and it was hard to pick just a few to share on my blog.
DeleteAs for the Canadian flag, I've had that on my blog for a long time, along with either sunflowers or the Ukrainian flag to show my support for them as well.
I would have spent the most time in front of the felted wool quilt checking out more details. Intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThat one was incredible - so many details that a photo certainly didn't do justice to.
DeleteI know I will never be that experienced to make any of those lovely patterns in quilts. Such talented quilters.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Yes, our guild has a lot of very talented members, for sure.
DeleteI don't plan to make one myself, but I love both the sunhat and the seaglass quilt :)
ReplyDeleteThe seaglass project IS intriguing but not enough for me to want to attempt it.
DeleteThanks for the highlights from the show. The first one -- from a distance, how boring. But the closeup with the quilting -- wow!
ReplyDeleteAnd all the stitching was done with metallic threads!
DeleteSuch beautiful quilts. So glad you provided a close up of a section of the first one. That is gorgeous. And the quilting on the Quilted Treasures quilt is stunning. Each of these is so unique, I love them all!
ReplyDeleteI really wish the camera could have picked up the amazing sparkle in that quilt and I wish I could have gotten a picture of the back too because it was equally as glimmery.
DeleteOoops... I see the Quilted Treasures is at the top of every card. I was referring to Cathedral Stars in my post above. The piecework is interesting, but that quilting stitch pattern is just stunning.
ReplyDeleteYes, Quilted Treasures was the name of the show. Sorry, I should have said that in my posts!
