I know, SUCH exciting happenings here at Chez Magpie! We're having an extreme heat wave right now and it's just too hot to bother doing much else. 
- I really enjoyed scrolling through THESE. I happen to have an old Singer machine in one of these and would love to transform it, however the machine still works (or would, if I could muster the courage to give it a new belt).

Great cartoon and so appropriate...just in from putting out the garbage and so unpleasant out there! Don't know if it's my age but I am not doing well with this heat and humidity. That is a great quote...Hitler never once fired a gun I read. Thanks for the links as always something will catch my eye. Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteMaxine is always one of my favourites. Very glad we don't have to go out today and can stay inside with the fans going and as few clothes on as possible.
DeleteI used to go to a little cafe that had singer sewing machine tables. They were sturdy and never wobbled.
ReplyDeleteI often see them used as tables. I really don't want to convert mine because #2 son and DIL gave it to me and the machine works (or would, if I could figure out how to attach a new belt).

DeleteThe heat/humidity is brutal here too. I got the morning chores started at 5:30 and it was already very uncomfortable. I've ordered another fan which should arrive by noon today, so I will perhaps be a more pleasant person by 1 PM.
ReplyDeleteCurrent temp here is listed at 30C, but haven't checked what the humidex makes it. Very glad to stay indoors with the fans going. Might pick up another one just to keep more air circulating but I'm not about to go out today to get it.
