I have come home after our holiday to the realization that a 'certain' day in December is more rapidly approaching than I'd like so there's been a flurry of ordering online for supplies. This is the first to arrive and will be turned into dish scrubbers which are an easy and quick knit and usually well received....
(don't worry, the work on the landscape has been picked up where I left off and I'll hopefully have a finish to show you on Monday).
- THIS will take you to several pages of free quilting patterns.
- Have a scroll through the amazing creations of THIS artist.
- THESE are rather fun for fall decor.
Today's quote..."If you want to understand how to fix a problem in the world, you have to ask who is profiting from the problem, not who is suffering from it"
Yes to that quotation! It's also true when you're puzzling over mystery novel plots!
ReplyDeleteI never thought of it in terms of book plots but it certainly fits!
DeleteLooks like you'll be busy making Scrubbies --nice yarn hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered how that "scrubby" yarn wears on your hands?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fabric collage site. I eat up everything I can get on that.
I wouldn't use scrubby yarn on my body but it's great for cleaning dishes and pots.
DeleteGlad you enjoyed the collage site.
I mean when you crochet with the scrubby yard, how does it wear on your hands? Is it scratchy?
DeleteOh. Ooops. Sorry I misunderstood! It IS a big scratchy but I make sure not to work with it for hours on end. I generally knit with it so perhaps that makes a difference. I find with crochet the stitch definition can be hard to see.
DeleteSherry of createology: Hello Dear MA. I have missed you. I have crocheted scrubby pads with this yarn and they work great for cleaning sinks ad tubs and lots of things. I have only used them on my hands when I got paint and needed to scrub it off. Lots of fun links. Yes, the days will really fly by from now until the end of the calendar year. Blessings…
ReplyDeleteYes, they're good for sinks and tubs too. One of my friends uses one like a loofah but I haven't tried it.
DeleteI have actually used scrubby yarn on my body and it is great for removing dead skin on my heals and other parts.
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely colours of scrubby yarn.
God bless.
Fabulous new yarn Mary Anne and lots of knitting as the weather gets colder to look forward too! Can't wait to see the landscape! Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteThere's more yarn on the way - four grandie sweaters are in the plans, along with a few other things. Not sure my knitting needles will work fast enough to complete all I hope to do. Serves me right for not starting sooner!
DeleteWelcome home! I've certainly missed you :) And now I expect scrubbies to gradually be followed by the little sweaters you magically turn out at mind-boggling speed!
ReplyDeleteThank you - glad to be home. As for mind-boggling speed, I'd better hope so or else I won't get the sweaters done in time (to say nothing about everything else I have on my list!).
DeleteWelcome home!
ReplyDeleteThose are some pretty colours for scrubbies, that should keep you busy... for a little while.
OMGoodness, those pumpkins are adorable, too bad I'm not much of a sew-er!
Appears I should stick to scrubbies because the design I tried to knit the past couple of nights ended up way too small, despite getting gauge at the beginning....argh!
