Done, Done AND done!!!!!

The Quilt (or at least this part of it) is DONE!!!  It's almost impossible to get decent pictures when our bedroom is so small so these aren't great but I think you can get the general idea...

and here's a closeup of part of one of the border corners....

I'll be calling the longarm quilter to see when she might have time to quilt it.  I'm hoping she won't quilt it too densely because it certainly doesn't need a lot more weight.  She provides the batting so hopefully she'll have something lightweight.  The backing is going to be a purple-ish design chosen by Resident Chef.  It will serve as a bedspread, rather than a queen-sized quilt.

Now to make a couple of throw pillows out of the leftovers and THEN I can call it quits, at least until I need to bind it.

- For those who are interested in weaving, perhaps you'd like to have a go at THIS.

- THESE little guys made me smile.

- Have a peek through the galleries of THIS amazing artist.

- Sometimes I come across something that just boggles my mind and THIS is one of them.  Be sure to scroll down to see how it was made.  And while you're there, be sure to look through the gallery HERE...wow!!!

- THESE would be cute to create and I would think fabric scraps would work just as well.

- Something else HERE that would be cute for Easter.

- Funny how sometimes the simplest things can make something beautiful as you can see HERE.

Today the quote is from Erma Bombeck..."Worrying is like a rocking chair.  It gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere"

    1. The hexies and the flowers were made already and had been sitting in the time out corner for a couple of years so it wasn't such a big time consumer to finish off. It's heading to the longarm quilter on the weekend so looking forward to seeing what she does with it.

  3. Beautiful quilt, can't wait to see it all quilted. Loved the birdie knitting pattern and the coffee filter cabbages. I just know I can't start a new project until I have finished this cross stitch.

Sherry of createology: This is such a beautiful quilt. It will be interesting to see it quilted and bound. You have done a stellar job dear. So many wonderful links and I thank you for keeping my mind active and overcharged. Erma was always a favorite of mine.

    1. I'm just glad I can say that quilt is pretty much done. Once it comes back from being quilted I face the long tedious job of applying the binding.

    1. Well, not quite finished but thank you. Still will have the binding to do once it's been quilted.

    1. I'm looking forward to it too. The quilter chose a really pretty all-over leaf design so it should look good.

  10. Wow! Wow! Wow! You rocked that out and it's beautiful. I really admire your dedication to getting a project done. Love those little crochet bunnies and you've reminded me that I have a whole Pinterest page full of ideas for those Dotee dolls. I think I need to get my sewing machine out soon.

    1. Dedication? Hah - it's taken me three years to get this quilt done. It's spent far too long in the time out corner.

  12. I'm going to keep that Erma Bombeck quote in mind - maybe the image will help me derail any fretful thoughts :) I haven't thought of her in ages, but when I was growing up, my mother loved her column in the Boston Globe, which we bought on Sundays on the way home from church. The kids read the funnies, mother read Erma Bombeck and recipes, and my Dad read the entire rest of that fat newspaper.

    1. I've read several of the Erma Bombeck books but that was quite awhile ago. Wonder if the library still has any...hmmm.....

    1. And now it's residing in the time-out corner again as I muster my courage to wrestle the binding onto it.
