The next section

I'm currently working on appliquing one of the floral sprays onto the quilt.  At this point I don't know what I'll end up doing on the other sides but I'm thinking that I might add more of the same.  Will have to do a test fit on the bed and then I might have a better idea.

- THIS takes you to a picture of an interesting method of putting quilts together.

- There's another 'awwww' moment HERE.

- Although THIS is technically created for jewelry, I think there's a myriad of other uses.

- THIS is a great upcycling idea.

This is your quote of the day..."Two things define you.  Your patience when you have nothing, your attitude when you have everything"

    1. I'm happy with it so far but there's a long way to go before it's finished I think.
I'd be tempted to make that cookie tin project if only I had thought to keep the one and only tin we got at Christmas.

  2. Do you sketch out your ideas or just wing it as you go? In either case, you have a flair for it. I like the cookie tin project. It would be nice to have some uniformity with my button tins. Maybe someday.

    1. I found a design idea online that I'm using for inspiration but it's mostly just winging it and hoping for the best. What I do will also be limited in the green and purple fabric options I have left.

    1. It's almost at the point where I have to decide on the next border section. I had one thought in mind but I think that's going to evolve into something else entirely.

    1. No, heirloom itsn't going to happen because my stitching abilities leave a lot to be desired. I'm just aiming for done!

    1. Thank you Christine. I'll be very happy to get it finished because it's been sitting there making me feel guilty for far too long.

  7. And to think I have been guilty of saying, "I don't care for hexies." Well, you have definitely changed my mind about that. I love love this border. Most of the words I wanted to say have already been used in the comments ~ fabulous, gorgeous, perfect and stunning...so I'll just say I totally agree. Do you happen to follow the blog Sarah Lizzies. Hexies galore there!

    1. Oh yes, I follow Sarah Lizzies - her work is astonishingly beautiful. I can but aspire to come even remotely close to what she does.

  9. Love what you are doing for borders.
I'm thinking road maps will be distinct things one day and therefore valuable. Kids will ask, "What's that?"

    1. Yes, they most likely will wonder at maps - and things like rotary phones!

  10. That fabric jewelry box is very appealing! Not as a project for me to make, I hasten to say. Just as something I would love to have :)

    1. I'm with you in not making it for myself, but it would be handy for stashing sewing supplies.

    1. I'm not at all sure it's creativity in play in this project - it's more like wanting to use up all that fabric that I turned into hexies. Whatever was I thinking!!!
