Half done the borders on the quilt....cause for celebration!! I, however, will spare you yet another photo of what basically looks pretty much the same. Third corner is basted and ready to stitch which I hope to finish this week.
- If you are planning to add borders to your quilt, check THIS out for a formula. And THIS for sashings.
- THIS takes you to part one of a series of posts about making fabric collages.
- THIS is a rather cute little design for Easter.
- Have a peek through the amazing galleries of THIS artist!
- I can't find the original artist for THIS but it did make me laugh.
Thanks for the fabric collage link. I'm trying to learn as much as I can.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it! I'm not much for doing collage but who knows, maybe one day.
DeleteJoyful giraffe!
ReplyDeleteI can see that as a kid's forever favorite toy, threadded eyes though.
It is a fun little guy for sure!
DeleteWho knew there was such a thing as Fibonacci Numbers, the golden rule... calipers, when calculating sashings and borders. Yikes..... maths! And here I've been all these years using the what's-pleasing-to-my-eyes method. =) Seriously though, such interesting reading. The golden rule would certainly save a lot of time and angst. I must bookmark these links Thank you for sharing, Mary Anne.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you in the yikes over math! Good thing I'm muddling through on my hexie quilt and I am planning on pleading ignorance to the 'rules'.
DeleteRules, especially those in quilting were made to be broken. Your hexie quilt is beautiful. Your "ignorance to the rules" is reaping rewards with this quilt.
DeleteI think maybe you're a rule breakder too Kim - at least if any of your quilts are any indication!
DeleteRules, rules. Does one need to follow rules? Followed them all through school and university now while still following some rules others are out the window.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I guess some rules need to be followed for safety if nothing else. When it comes to creativity I often go against the norm!
DeleteI love that Carl Sagan quote. In fact, I love that Carl Sagan!
ReplyDeleteSagan and Emerson - the best!
DeleteLoved Bonita Bunny! and I liked the post about the book.... how true! Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteBooks are a wonderful things - I've loved them all my life.
DeleteSherry of createology: I have been enamored with Carl Sagan for decades. He is brilliant beyond! Books and words are truly a gift to all of us. My sister reads about 21 books a week. She has always been a bookworm! Sunshine for you dear.
ReplyDelete21 books in a week? Wow!!! I thought I was a fast reader.
Deleteit's all about the eyes with that giraffe!!
ReplyDeleteFor sure!
