A cause for celebration!

I have officially put the last quilting stitch into the lap quilt and my hands are very grateful.  Of course I'm still facing putting the binding on both it and The Quilt but that will wait until it returns from the longarmers.  I think the trimmings from The Quilt will do the binding for both quilts.

With the help of my trusty holder-upper.....

The back...

A closeup to show the quilting..

As usual, the sun isn't cooperating so I turned on
all the lights and this is the best I could do.

And...guess what?

A new landscape is started
using this photo by Dale Stewart as inspiration...

- Have a peek through the galleries of THIS amazing artist!

- THIS link takes you to a tutorial for a nice bag that would serve a multitude of uses.

- I'd love to be a fly on the wall and watch THIS artist creating!

- THIS is a different take on the traditional Easter egg design.

  1. Good for you finishing up;))) I am going to begin making us a new set of place mats--a nice small project to use up yet MORE scraps...I ALMOST threw them all out yesterday (not a good day obviously!! Darn brain fog!! ) but restrained my urge to do so..;000...I hope you have a good weekend; we are supposed to get rain and thunder storms...Spring weather

    1. Unfortunately it still needs the binding, but at least the hard part is done. Now my sewing room looks like a cyclone hit it because I'm searching out appropriate fabrics for the new landscape....and it's snowing....again.

  3. What an awesome job on the lap quilt. Your holder upper did a great job. The hand quilting is just lovely and so nicely done.
Looking forward to seeing the landscape take shape.

    God bless.

    1. I am definitely not a hand quilter - at least not the way I've seen others do, but I can call it done and I figure it's better done than perfect.

Kluepfel and Ingram art is outstanding. So is your work with fabric.

    1. Awww - thank you! I have fun playing with varying degrees of success. Today I tried something different and am regretting it because taking out the basting threads is turning out to be a bear.

    1. Yes, he's a good holder upper, even though he was complaining that I was taking too long trying to get a decent photo. That quilt, although small, is heavy!!

    1. I'm just relieved to put both those big projects behind me although I'm not getting too excited yet because I know I still have miles of binding to put on.

Sherry of createology: MA Dear your vintage linens quilt has turned out beautifully. Love your Hearts hand quilting. I am certain you are very happy to have this WIP almost completed. I do hope I never think old because I certainly do not act old even though I am looking old. I hope Spring is sprouting new growth for you. Blessings…

  9. Why do I come in and see posts and not comment - only to realize this days later?!? I saw that beautiful quilt, but must have left before letting you know. I am impressed by your motivation once you set your mind to finishing a thing. Lovely, Mary Anne.
