A moment (or maybe two) of awwwwwww

 First of all, how cute is my latest finished project???

This little sweetie measures in at about 12" tall. I used a crochet hook two sizes smaller than the pattern called for because I don't want any chance of any of the stuffing escaping. Pattern is THIS one and I used Bernat Velvet yarn.

And.....the last two of the long oven mitts are finished....

Update on the phone situation (and I know you were waiting to hear, weren't you!!)....nada, but more frustration.  Thanks be to Maureen who shared a link to the Better Business Bureau I have learned that I should run, not walk, away from Virgin Mobile.  I stand to lose the balance I have with them but it appears it will be a cheap price to pay.  Now I'm wondering what will happen when I attempt to cancel my account with them.  By all reports, it appears it might be a whole 'nother battle royal brewing.

Today's quote is a poem from Edgar Albert Guest....

Have You Earned Your Tomorrow

Is anybody happier because you passed his way?
Does anyone remember that you spoke to him today?
This day is almost over, and it's toiling time is through;
Is there anyone to utter now a kindly word of you?

Did you give a cheerful greeting to the friend that came along?
Or a churlish sort of "Howdy" and then vanish in the throng?
Were you selfish pure and simple as you rushed along the way,
Or is someone mighty grateful for a deed you did today?

Can you say tonight, in parting with the day that's slipping fast,
That you helped a single brother of the many that you passed?
Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said;
Does a man whose hopes were fading now with courage look ahead?

Did you waste  the day, or lose it, was it well or sorely spent?
Did you leave a trail of kindness or a scar of discontent?
As you close your eyes in slumber do you think that God would say,
You have earned one more tomorrow by the work you did today?

    1. It's for the baby that's arriving in January. And yes, I give her a wee hug when nobody's looking!

  2. What a sweet little bunny. It looks very cuddly. I learned that felt technique from the Carol Duvall show years ago and it really came in handy making felt ornaments and banners for my kid's religious celebrations. I think I did a blog post last year that included pictures of my little bears I found. It's good to be reminded. The poem is very poignant and really makes you think.

    1. I know that likely most people know the tip about cutting felt but thought I'd share on the off chance someone didn't, especially coming up to Christmas when people might be making things from felt.

    Sorry you are having a phone carrier problem. They can be brutal on the nerves to deal with. Prayers all goes well

  5. Oh, that little sweetie is adorable. I can just imagine how cuddly she is in that velvet yarn. That is a neat trick to use when cutting felt; I wasn't aware of this...thank you. It has always been a good day if one can impart a little kindness and a smile to another♡

    1. The wee bunny definitely is adorable....just hope the baby will think so too. The felt suggestion does work because I do it all the time.

  6. Oh my I love that bunny. So utterly adorable.

    I may have to try my hand at those hanging kitchen towels. I think they would make a great hostess gift.

    I have actually made that cowl pattern for myself. Works wonderfully.

    God bless.

    1. Nice to know that you've made the cowl because I'm toying with it for myself. I've used the same scarf for probably ten years and I still love it but I think it's time for something new. And if I hadn't already made oven mitts I think the towels might have been a good alternative.

    1. I hope the wee one will like the bunny but you never know what will be 'the thing' with little ones. She'll be getting a teddy bear too so at least there will be options.
