Some things for THAT day

You know?  THAT day in December???  Well, here's some additions to 'The Box' - three pairs are heading there once they've received their non-slip bottom anointing and the other pair is being gifted now due to the untimely appearance of holes in a currently loved pair.

The two pairs in the front fit a size 13 man, the orange pair fits a size 10-11 woman, and the purple would fit a size 7 ladies foot.

There's been more progress on the new landscape and it's starting to look a little better (at least IMHO anyway!)...

Today this is your quote..."He who blames others has a long way to go on his journey.  He who blames himself is halfway there.  He who blames no one has arrived"

    1. If I didn't need to make one pair of slippers right away I wouldn't have done them all but thought I might as well make one felting operation do.

  2. Love that pocket shawl--my hands are always freezing cold--I haven't crocheted much --only granny squares--but will give this one a try...thanks hugs, Julierose

    1. I've found that there's a fine line between appearing like complete and total garbage to suddenly starting to be a thing - you're right.

    1. My family has had happy feet covered with my felted slippers for a number of years now. I've lost track of how many times I've received a call for replacements. I'm looking forward to the next step on the building too (actually it's a schoolhouse)

    1. The sky is different from anything I've done and it's a technique I've been wanting to try. I think I like it and might do it again sometime. Perhaps the grass area?

    1. I couldn't resist photographing the slippers in a row like that - made me smile. As for what I use on the bottom - it's a product called 'Shoe Goo' and I put a nice thick coat on the bottom of each slipper. I've tried other products that have been recommended but nothing stands up as well as this one. Stinks to high heaven though so I 'cure' them outside.

    1. Yes, the entire family has a pair of these slippers. They've been ongoing for a number of years and I'm often getting requests for replacements so I guess they must be good ones.

    1. I'm sure by the time this pandemic thing is over many of us will have lots of worn t-shirts that would be great for projects.

  11. Hi MA just thought I’d pop in and say hi! You’ve been busy with slippers! I live having a project like that-good for tv watching. I’m currently working on a big afghan that is fairly mindless. I love the new barn. It’s funny but I kept looking in the foreground for chickens!! I read a few posts back and that fudge looks and sounds divine!

    1. Hi Susan! Yes, the slippers were tv projects. I don't watch much tv and prefer to just listen so knitting and crocheting are great for that.
As for the chickens thing - I did actually do just that in the one I have in my blog header at the moment. Don't know if you can see that?

    1. I'm not normally that early, but I had a special request for a replacement pair of slippers right away so thought I'd outfit the entire family while I was at it. Usually when one pair wears out the rest of the family isn't long following suit.

    1. Not so sure it's talent - more apt to be sheer boredom!
