A yawner and a puzzle
One more pair of felted slippers hot off the needles (I have discovered that I can knit a pair of these in about 12 hours...just so the curious among you can know)....
And....what do you suppose this might end up being?....
Today's quote..."I'm too busy working on my own grass to notice if yours is greener"
Wnd up being...a baby quilt? The fabric envelopes are a neat idea. They could hold letters and note cards. The embroidery books, the covers are gorgeous.
Yes, I must admit I wishful thought over most of those embroidery books. Nope, not a baby quilt (although I am working on a crocheted baby afghan for something to do when I'm on a video chat with my friends).
I would think my grass is a lot greener than your white stuff at the moment. =) Those socks are fabulous and how quickly you knitted them up. Can I hazard a guess and say perhaps the fabric might find its way into a landscape??
Sure, rub it in that your grass is green!! The slippers are knitted with two strands of yarn and big needles so they work up fast. As for the guess....maybe, maybe not.
those slippers look very comfy and gee you are fast! I looked down this morning and saw that I am wearing two different slippers! (I love being retired....hahaha)
The Footie Queen! A baby Quilt? And, I've just spent a half day about, looking over the free quilt magazines. I have been known before to spent a lot of time on ISSU. Lots of other craft mags there.
Done with footies for the moment - that catches everyone in the family up on getting new slippers for Christmas so I should be good for awhile on those.
I see your Christmas Slipper box is filing up quickly. I have no clue what your next project will be however I do love the soft blue color. The grass is never greener on the other side!
Yes, these will make a good start on the Christmas box, although one pair has been requested already due to untimely holes appearing in the well-loved ones. They're now felted and lined up in a row on the floor drying.
Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.

Hmmmm, could it be a background or a backing? I love that quote.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.....maybe it is....

Great links! I'm not even going to guess what you will make. It's usually a surprise.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the links. As for what I'm doing with that fabric piece, it's not really that much of a surprise.

ReplyDeleteBig needles and two strands of yarn makes for fast knitting. Oh I love the two different slippers/retired thing!
DeleteOne very cool, kind of crazy quilt? Did you piece that together? It looks pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteYes, I pieced it together using two different fabrics and I've since stitched all the edges down to hold them in place.
DeleteWow, 12 hours!! It would take me at least four times that long! They look lovely and snuggly! xx
ReplyDeleteThey'll be much more cozy once they get felted. And I'm sure someone who was a better knitter than I could make them in far less time.
