Yes, I still have nothing of interest to show you. As you can see from the photos below there are things happening (the mess will attest to that!) but absolutely nothing is ready for you to see. I never did claim to be neat when I'm in the throes of creating despite my continual vows to clean up after myself. Behold - the mess thinly disguised as creativity here at Chez Magpie...
Today's quote is from Albert Einsein..."If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?"
I love the quote and the pictures of your work area. Yesterday my husband mentioned that the dining room table is getting out of control again. I guess I have too many open projects (like open tabs on the computer). But it's not like we're going to be having anyone over. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI usually end up making a huge mess until I reach the point where I start setting things down and then not being able to find them and then I know it's time to get the backhoe out. I'm lucky that I get the use of the second bedroom and if (when!!!!) company ever comes I can just shut the door.
DeleteThank you for the links and your creative mess looks interesting :) I like the quote too.
ReplyDeleteCreative mess indeed! And these pictures don't show it all!
DeleteHalf the part of being creative is the mess so clutter away!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm happy in my own little world!
DeleteLooks like you have enough to keep you busy. :)
ReplyDeleteI never have a problem with not having anything to do. It's not so much that I have a ton of different projects on the go at any one time - but the 'Wanna-Do' list is long and keeps getting longer all the time.
DeleteMy room is always such a mess when I am in the middle of almost any project----that is just the way it is
ReplyDeleteAfter I have a finish it takes me a few days to work in a cleaned up room;000
hugs, Julierose
Not sure which is worse - a completely tidy room or one so messed up you can't find anything!
DeleteA lot of stuff happening there. I don't see how you can make stuff without having it take over.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem to be all-encompassing at times.
DeleteHa! Am so glad I’m not the only one who can make a mess 😊. Your work is always beautiful no matter the process 💕
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking I'm going to change my ways but after all these years I suspect it's a lost cause.
DeleteLoved seeing your 'mess' and the quote is fantastic!! Have a good weekend! Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm glad somebody appreciates my mess!! I did think that quote was very fitting so had to share it.
DeleteYes, I have seen messes very similar right here underneath my feet. Those messes are a distraction for me, so I always tidy up before going to work.
ReplyDeleteI need to take a page (or several!) out of your book. I did pick up a few things tonight so it doesn't look quite so bad.
DeleteA mess is the necessity of creativity for unless we view all possibilities, how will we know we've found the right theme
ReplyDeleteAha! Now THAT's a theory I can get behind! I knew there was a reason for what I do and now I know what it is.
DeleteWell, this makes me feel better about the messes I make when I'm creating. I've been a bit shocked at how messy I can be when pulling out things to make the little tags I'm indulging in lately. And they're not even complicated. Fortunately, everything has a container to go back into so cleaning up isn't too hard. But still... It's a bit ridiculous, if I do say so myself.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to think I'm neat and tidy when I create - but thinking is as far as I ever seem to get.
DeleteWhen I saw your mess, I thought how you can work in a place where chaos only destroys you, and also makes it difficult to create, work, etc ... moreover, such clutter as in these flowers do you see something? , they brighten up a lot, you will really feel relaxed, it matches even watching what, let alone live like this, sorry but I had to write the truth to you only for your good,
ReplyDeletegreetings,.........
I don't feel that my mess destroys me at all - to me it's simply part of my own creative process. I recognize that not everyone is comfortable working this way and that's perfectly okay with me. Thanks for your thoughtful comment.
