I'm at the stage with the current landscape where the possibility is great that it will land in that proverbial 'file area' that resides on the floor beside my table. I have done this enough to know that I need to carry on and try to break through the ugly. Many of you guessed what I was doing with that piece of blue woven fabrics I showed last time.
First of all, I will show you the photo I'm using as inspiration for this one - once more shared with me and permission granted for my use by Dale Stewart (thank you Dale, as always!)....
And here's where I'm at at the moment....
Yeah. 'nuff said. Stay tuned for further developments!!
AND, yes it must be love when this piece of chocolate fudge appeared last night....handmade by the clever hands of Resident Chef. Chocolate with peanut butter and decorated with dried cranberries. Yeah, he loves me - even after all these years.
- THESE fall under the awwwww category I think.
- Have a look through THIS gallery of work. I love the use of colour.
- And the fine detail on THIS is astounding!
- Have a peek through the galleries of THIS artist.
Today's quote.."At the store there was a big X by the register for me to stand on...I've seen too many Road Runner cartoons to fall for that one"
Now that's a nice Valentine. You don't have to dust it, and it won't fade and die..
ReplyDeleteYep - only have to deal with what ends up on my hips!!
DeleteOf course your Resident Chef loves you. That's an impressive heart-shaped fudge heart. It looks delicious. About breaking through your so said "ugly"; you will......you always do, you know.
ReplyDeleteAfter 40 years I guess he must love me - either that or he's just too lazy to trade me in on a newer model!
DeleteOh...me thinks it is love. =)
DeleteA pleasure to open your page and delight the eyes. A great barn photo and with your own interpretations, will be right with it when done. Thanks for the links. What a wonderful Valentine surprise. The Resident Chef is a Keeper for sure!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think he's a keeper too. Anybody who makes me chocolate is a good guy! As for the landscape - jury is still out.
Deleteyour new design is looking great, despite "the ugly" and yummy looking love heart.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the vote of confidence (and yes that heart IS yummy!).
DeleteChocolate and peanut is a fabulous combination! Thanks for the links - lots to see - cost me a bunch of time. The landscape will come together. Let it sit for a few days.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I didn't mean for you to lose a chunk out of your life investigating links (oops). Yes, the landscape is percolating at the moment whilst I contemplate my navel over what to do next.
DeleteHow sweet of your Resident Chef! Did you share with him? Ha! We all know you well enough that we don't worry when you say "ugly." That always has a way of going away as you work your magic.
ReplyDeleteOh yes I shared, especially after he pointedly announced that he'd made it for BOTH of us! Still dealing with the 'uglies' so we'll see.
Deletewell he must realize how lucky he is to have you! The little birdies were definitely an "awwww"........amazing artists all.......I love how your eye knows just what to tell your hands to do on those landscapes........
ReplyDeleteYeah, I guess we still have a mutual admiration for each other, even after all these years. Sometimes I wish my eye and my hands would talk a little better to each other!
DeleteOh that chocolate heart - true love indeed!! Your landscape is looking great!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the hard work!
Wren x
Thanks Wren - and yes I guess it's true love after over 40 years!
DeleteYou know you always hit this 'ugly' phase in your landscapes Mary Anne but, you always manage to work your magic and something wonderful emerges! (Ugly duckling to swan!) The fudge looks delicious!! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteYes, the ugly stage happens with every one of them and I spend a lot of time wondering why I'm even trying to do this. I've learned I just have to work through it. (and yes, the fudge was delicious!)
