A little bit

Well, it seems that Blog-grrrr has fallen down on the job again and for some reason some of the tool bar features have gone awol.  Hmmm....the plot, it thickens....

Never mind, there's been a little bit of progress on the latest landscape...

There's a long way to go with this one but at least there's been a little bit added.

Today's quote..."One of the most sincere forms of respect is actually listening to what another has to say"

  1. I feel like I'm looking at a ghost of a truck. :) Looking good, Mary-Anne. I like the link that provides many options for shelving. Going to spend some time there looking at ideas!

  2. Just a little bit each day and it will all add up...That is what I hope to do, too...
    I can no longer sustain this all-day-long working...my body says : "W H O A there"..;)))
I like how your "little bit" is coming along and love seeing the different phases that add up to the whole...

    1. I worked all afternoon on the landscape and quite honestly nothing shows! So much goes into the base before I can start adding all the finer details.

  3. Thank you for posting the Rav alternative listing. That's helpful. If you haven't checked into Rav since the massive overnight, change -- no three month window of the kind blogger has done -- please proceed with caution. I had to revert to the old version after a few minutes on the new one caused a massive ocular migraine and partial temporary blindness. There are technical reasons why this happened and they are trying to fix them. But I don't suffer migraines ad a rule, and was one of many people reporting on day one of the rollout. Some people had more serious reactions.

They're trying to fix it but with limited success up to now,and had to make the old version temporarily available again.

About blogger, I think they're working in the background. I couldn't upload pics on tablet not phone, upload button mia. But it's back now, and organized differently. No harm done.

    1. That is certainly interesting to know about the Ravelry site - hadn't heard about any vision issues caused by the change. Seems odd. Hopefully they soon get it rectified. I obviously don't spend much time there.
I agree that they do seem to be fixing Blogger - slow process it seems but it's getting better.

  4. Hi Mary Anne,
That hexie needle case pattern is gorgeous, and sounds just the sort of little project to make while on the move.
Looking forward to seeing how you create the car parts. You are so creative. Thanks for the links, always look forward to reading them.

    1. Hi Val
I was rather taken with the hexie needle case and might have to attempt one at some point. I'm looking forward to seeing what I do with the car parts too - I never know what I'm going to do until after I've done it!

    2. Yes, me too, Mary Anne, I'm thinking about attempting it now, and looking at all my smaller scraps, perhaps I will. :-)

  5. Hexies.. I have a few of them. That might be a nice small undemanding project. Thank you, Madame Enabler!

    1. Small projects are the best, particularly now! Hmmm - I guess I could be called worse things than Madame Enabler!

  6. I just sent the Ravelry alternative to my sister in Tennessee, as she's now the family knitter (takes after our mother). Pouring rain here at the moment. Hopefully the temperature will go back to normal for this time of year. Good luck with the old truck!

    1. Hope your sister finds something useful in those. I haven't totally explored them as yet myself. Glad you're getting rain (but then again, maybe you're not as much in need as we are here).

  7. I am really saddened by the vitriolic intensity of the backlash against Ravelry. The original format has never NOT been available; users can switch back to it with a click. I don't doubt that the accessibility problems people are having are very serious, and I understand how frustrating it must be to feel improvement is not being made quickly enough. It's not like nothing is being done; users have been asked to help by completing an off-site Readability Survey which includes mock-ups of various screens. The survey is open until the 16th at noon ET.
But quite apart from these issues (which I can't speak to personally), the level of truly nasty criticism about every design detail is just disheartening. As we all know, there's a person, with feelings, behind every one of those details. The people who created and grew Rav - a massively powerful tool that is FREE - have taken so much stick over the years, with such good grace and genuine good will. I've often marveled that they didn't just decide at some point to shut it down. I'm grateful they haven't.

    1. It is indeed sad Quinn - and it's happening on so many fronts these days. I don't understand what people have done with their common decency towards their fellow man. People seem to have forgotten the meaning of patience and that it takes time to iron all the kinks out of any system. The originators of Ravelry have done us a huge service over the years and to have them be blacklisted simply because of a few glitches in their system is simply not right. I know if it were me and I was facing such a backlash I WOULD shut it down and not think twice about it. Thank you for your well-thought-out comment!

  9. I see huge progress on your landscape. How fun to see this truck and the water and foliage come together. Nice links once again and thank you. We should all learn to listen a lot more...at least I should learn to listen more!

    1. At this stage on a landscape things do seem to happen quickly. When I get to the embroidery part, not so much! And listening is a good skill not always used to best advantage.

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
