HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANADA!
The birthday celebrations in Canada will certainly be a whole lot different this year than normal but no matter what we're proud of our country and we will celebrate it as much as we can.
And - there are TWO finishes to show you today! I finished the landscape!
SOLD!
Here is the original photo I used for
inspiration, shared with the kind
permission of Dale Stewart...
Photo taken at Dunvegan, Alberta
And, Resident Chef finished the latest puzzle he's been working on. Now he will put away his puzzle table for the summer and take a break. At least doing puzzles has kept him occupied the past while!
Today's quote is from Pierre Elliot Trudeau..."Our hopes are high. Our faith in the people is great. Our courage is strong. And our dreams for this beautiful country will never die".“
Happy Canada Day! We will be celebrating the USA's birthday quietly this year. All our family, Sibs, Nieces, Nephews, Grands, etc always try to make it to Mom's for 4th of July and Christmas........although 4th is out for this year I surely hope we all will be able to have Christmas there this year.
ReplyDeleteI'm really hoping for Christmas too, but I guess we won't know until we get there. We don't celebrate hugely but it would be nice to get to see our son and his family.
DeleteBeautiful quilting.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Canada!
Thank you. As I type there's fireworks going on across the river...not official ones, but somebody showing their Canadian pride.
DeleteHappy Birthday Canada! Love your latest landscape Mary Anne, I think it is my favourite so far! Enjoy your day! Christine xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine! I think every landscape is my favourite when I first finish it - then I go on to another one and it takes its place.
DeleteHappy Canada Day to you (a day late)
ReplyDeleteGreat finish on the landscape! Congratulations.
Thanks Judy! Canada Day was rather understated this year but we did see some amateur fireworks outside our window last night.
DeleteI'm so sorry I missed saying Happy Canada Day on the right day! Happy Day After Canada Day doesn't have quite the same impact, but I hope you're having one anyway :)
ReplyDeleteCanada Day is whenever we celebrate it (at least that's my theory!).
DeleteWow I love your landscape!! So pretty and you really are very clever! I also love the puzzle since it is Christmassy and snowy... now wouldn't that look good as a quilted wallhanging :) Happy Belated Canada Day! xx
ReplyDeleteYou're right that the puzzle would look great as a quilted hanging, but it won't be done by moi! A whole lot more detail than I'm willing to put into it.
DeleteI do very much like the double frame in your art work piece. The flowers just topped it off. I know you spent a lot of time working on them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for liking the double frame, but if you're counting the black on the very outside, it's actually a frame that my computer adds to all my photos. Don't know why! But- having said that, I like the idea of an additional black on the very outside....hmmmm.....
DeleteYour finished church lanscape quilt is beautiful, Mary Anne. :) I hope you had a Happy Canada Day. We celebrated Independence Day in a small, quiet way (befitting hubby recovering from his recent surgery), but it seemed everyone else bought fireworks so we listened to those for several nights.
ReplyDeleteThank you Becki - it was a fun one to do. Fireworks have been going on by the river (just outside our building) pretty much every night for several weeks....don't know who/why...and when we haven't had rain for so long it's a pretty dangerous thing. Hope your hubby is doing well!
