Who knew....

Yes, who knew that a shower would feel so good?  Yes, we have (shhhh, don't say it too loudly!) hot-ish water.  After nearly six days without it's a luxury we aren't going to take for granted anytime soon!  Now we have laundry drying everywhere as we're playing catch up with that too.

I finished the dreaded alteration caper of spring 2020 - and I must admit I wanted to celebrate that one.  But then I returned to earth with a thump when my friend requested I make some masks for her family.  So I guess it's back to mask-making for another couple of days.

So...you will gather from all that mumbling that there's nothing exciting happening here at Chez Magpie that's worth sharing at the moment.  Next week I hope to rectify that (of course, THAT depends on your viewpoint!) and start another landscape.  Stay tuned!  Here is the one I am hoping to do...

  1. I LOVE that photo--great soft colors--I can see using hand dyed or ombre fabrics? I love old, weathered barns...Looking forward to seeing how you do this one...;)))

  3. The pincushions look like cupcakes. Maybe the lack of flour is getting to me. Everything looks like cake.

    1. You're right, they do! I think I'm going to make one although we don't drink pop so will have to scout out another type of top to use instead.

    2. I was looking around and will be able to make one when I finish: honey, lemon juice, molasses, olive oil, mouthwash, whichever happens first!

    3. I'm eyeing all the possibilities too - and I already have some double-sided tape to mount it with.

  5. I’m so glad you got your hot (ish?????????) water back. Showers are good, even when you’re social distancing! LOL. Everyone sure has been getting hard things thrown at them. When do the Good Times start??

    1. I think the good times are still there Cathy, we just have to search a little harder for them. We have to find our joy in the little things at the moment and we're simply not used to that. For me right now it's hot water!

  8. Quaranstitching fits all the masks and such being sewn for others. Your next landscape is a beauty to reproduce in fabrics. Staying safe and well.

    1. I think the quaranstitching not only refers to the masks but also to the fact that people are staying at home and stitching on many different types of projects. Good term!

  9. I am sympathising - our water has gone off twice this week already. i think it is our building is not used to have everyone at home all of the time!
    Happy hot showering!

    1. It's one of the joys of apartment living isn't it. We're at their mercy! Our hot water boiler has been patched up so many times and it truly needs to be replaced but they'll wait until it's completely beyond hope before they do.
