A grand finish!!!!!!!!

Although this doesn't look like much on its own, these represent the end of the Grand Sock Knitting Caper of 2019.....

Although it's hard to tell in the picture, these pairs are child-sized....hopefully they will fit!  Now everyone in our family will have new socks for Christmas this year.

Today's quote is from George Carlin...." We've learned how to make a living, but not a life.  We've added years to life not life to years.  We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbour.  We conquered outer space but not inner space.  We've done large things, but not better things"

    1. Yes, it's a relief to have them all done. I did enjoy making them though, but hopefully won't have to repeat the process (at least not for a few years!).

    1. Amazes me too! I never thought I would ever be a sock knitter but after making all these I guess I am. I have found one easy pattern and I will stick to it. I know there are lots of nice patterns out there but I'm happy with these.

  4. Good looking socks MA. The boys will love them and being wool socks, will have some stretch to them .

  5. Okay, I admit was completely mystified by the project that turned out to be your toilet roll disguise, but I recognized these foot-blankets IMMEDIATELY!

  6. That's fun that everyone will receive hand-knitted socks for Christmas. Is that something you do every year, or was it just this year's project? I love the idea. That quote is sobering, and I'm afraid I recognize myself a bit in there. Okay... off to check out your links!

    1. No, the socks are a 2019 thing only (altho' I suspect there might be requests for more when this lots wears out...just hope they don't all happen at the same time!).

    1. I've never tried felting crochet - will be interested in how that turns out. I've made lots of knitted & felted slippers though.
