Just a little bear

My stash yielded just enough fake fur fabric to create this little guy...

Pattern is an old one - Vogue #7534 - and probably is no longer available.  He's about 15" tall.

Today the quote is from Jules Renard...."It's not how old you are, it's how you are old"

    1. Yes, the new baby simply HAS to have a teddy bear of his own!! No hand-me-down bears on my watch!

    1. Thank you Janie. I need to find a better ribbon for around his neck before I gift him - white just doesn't 'do it' for me.

    1. I like the sewing caddy too - if I had access to woodworking tools I'd love to make one (or several).

    1. I can't count how many bears I've made over the years - little ones simply HAVE to have a bear (at least in my mind anyway!)

    1. Thanks Judy. I have no little girls in our immediate family to create for, but luckily my two best friends both have granddaughters so they benefit from my urge to make dolls once in awhile.

  6. You are amazing Mary Anne. Is there anything you don't try or ever feel you can't tackle something? I really doubt it. The bear is soo good and will be well loved by the new baby.

  7. He's a very handsome bear. I used to make bears a long while ago. I still have some that I didn't give away. They all live happily with the op shop bears together on a chair in my bedroom.

    1. I have 3 bears that live in my studio - two little ones that I bought for myself years ago. Unfortunately once my friends saw that I had a couple of bears they decided that I must be a 'collector' and I was inundated with them. When we moved into the apartment I downsized dramatically and kept my original 3 plus one other. No more are allowed!!

    1. I had to do some creative cutting to get enough out of my piece of fabric for this bear. Good thing it worked out!

    1. I'm sure there are lots of newer patterns out there for bears but the ones I have work well so I just keep using them. One of these days they'll fall apart and I'll be forced to get new ones.
