First of all - a question for you...
do any of you own a Singer 9960 Quantum Stylist
sewing machine?  If so, what do you think of it?

Obviously no sewing happening here at Chez Magpie for a few days so how about I show you one of the baby things I've completed...


This is the 'Everyday Toddler Hoodie' by Megan Goodacre.  I used Cascade 220 yarn.  It still needs to be blocked but I'm waiting to complete all I have planned and I will do them all at once.

Today's quote is from St. Jerome...."Good.  Better. Best.  Never let it rest until your good is better and your better is best"

    Are you thinking of buying a NEW Singer? The Singer 9960 looks about on the same level as the Brother CS6000i I bought as a second/back up machine. I'm really happy with it and it is 1/2 the price of the Singer. Some sewers I know say that the quality of Singer is not what it once was. I'll be interested to know why you asked the question.

      Yes, a new machine is being contemplated. This one is nothing but a lump of garbage and simply isn't worth taking over two hours away for yet another servicing that never fixes the issues she keeps coming up with.

    Smiling at your quote because I remember my Grandmother saying this and my life has ended up as 'near enough is good enough'! I hope she is still saying 'well done darling' as she looks down at me!! Love the toddler hoodie!
