First of all - a question for you...
do any of you own a Singer 9960 Quantum Stylist
sewing machine?  If so, what do you think of it?
****************************
Obviously no sewing happening here at Chez Magpie for a few days so how about I show you one of the baby things I've completed...

This is the 'Everyday Toddler Hoodie' by Megan Goodacre and can be found HERE.  I used Cascade 220 yarn.  It still needs to be blocked but I'm waiting to complete all I have planned and I will do them all at once.

- THIS is a cute fall project you could make for your decor.

- Thank you to Doreen for the head's up on THIS one - there are tons of free cross stitch projects available (just check out the 'free patterns' label in her sidebar).

- I don't know who to credit for THIS but I thought it was worth sharing in case someone can figure out how to make it for themselves.

- Those who quilt might find THIS article (and the charts) useful.  And while you're there, you might like to check out some of her other tutorials (found HERE)

Today's quote is from St. Jerome...."Good.  Better. Best.  Never let it rest until your good is better and your better is best"

  1. Very cute knitted sweater with the hoodie. Thank you for sharing the free pattern. Someday I will try to knit this. Good Quote today.

    1. It's a pretty easy knit (or I wouldn't be doing it!). Hopefully it will keep a wee one warm.

  2. Are you thinking of buying a NEW Singer? The Singer 9960 looks about on the same level as the Brother CS6000i I bought as a second/back up machine. I'm really happy with it and it is 1/2 the price of the Singer. Some sewers I know say that the quality of Singer is not what it once was. I'll be interested to know why you asked the question.

    1. Yes, a new machine is being contemplated. This one is nothing but a lump of garbage and simply isn't worth taking over two hours away for yet another servicing that never fixes the issues she keeps coming up with.

  3. What a beautifully knit hooded sweater, Mary Anne. That's going to keep a grandchild toasty. :)

    1. I hope it will keep our expected wee one cozy. It was an easy knit and hopefully it will fit when the time comes.

  4. Smiling at your quote because I remember my Grandmother saying this and my life has ended up as 'near enough is good enough'! I hope she is still saying 'well done darling' as she looks down at me!! Love the toddler hoodie!

    1. There's no doubt in my mind that your Grandma is saying exactly that. Glad the quote of the day brought back some good memories for you.

    1. My kids aren't 'in' to the traditional blue and pink so it's fun to work with something different. Enjoy your weekend too Christine!

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
