And....another little project for baby
These will co-ordinate with the sweaters I've already
made. The hat is 'Golden Pear' from Viridian Hue
The mitts are just generic using the same
stitch pattern/colourway as the hat. Yarn is Cascade 220.
Too TOE True! Love the knitted hat and mittens for Grands you have created. Your Christmas gift box must be overflowing dear. Lovely week to you and Resident Chef...xo
Just love that set you knitted --that viridian is gorgeous with the gray and white...(Oooh I wish I could still knit--I was pyanorose on ravelry before my hands gave out!! I loved making socks and mittens especially and afghans, too --oh well, everything changes huh?)) Cute Advent calendar there...great idea...thanks for the links neat stuff hugs, Julierose
Thank you! Actually the set isn't gray (altho I agree it does look like it in the photo)...it's purple. I don't knit afghans - those I prefer to crochet because it goes faster.
I can definitely see a future for that twine idea around here, along with my knitted dishcloths. I don't like sponges, but I can stuff it with a hand-knit dishcloth. I have a huge twine supply, for the garden (neighbors use it, too), so we can do this. Nice for my cast iron pans. Thanks.
I like the idea of those twine scrubbies too - and I suppose they could be stuffed with anything you have available. I think I'd be tempted to leave one of the short ends open so the 'innards' could be replaced as needed. Wish we could use cast iron pans but with a glass top stove it's not exactly safe - particularly when my hands tend to let go of things at unexpected times.
I don't normally like knitting with more than one colour at a time but these worked out okay. And yes, too often we manage to prove that quote as true!!
Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.

ReplyDeleteI love that little hat too - would like to try the same pattern in adult size sometime.

DeleteCast iron is lovely for baking.
DeleteI'd love to try it but I know Resident Chef wouldn't be able to resist the lure of using it on the cooktop and that's just a disaster in the making.
DeleteOh, I think I need to try this little hat. I can surely manage the color changes by now! Your little hat and mittens are lovely, Mary Anne.
ReplyDeleteI normally try to stay away from color work but this wasn't too bad. I just held the hat up in the air every few minutes and let it spin to untangle.
DeleteAdorable hat and mittens
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think they're rather cute too.
DeleteThe little mittens and hat are adorable! Such a sweet pattern and the colours of the wool....just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe hat & mittens will co-ordinate with the sweaters I've made - all matchy-poo and everything!!
DeleteAnother beautiful make Mary Anne. Your grandchildren are very well looked after!! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteHave to indulge them now because one day they won't appreciate what Grandma makes.
DeleteThey are perfect. As you say matchy-poo!
ReplyDeleteWell, either matchy-poo OR a simple desire to use up the yarn!
DeleteSo adorable and perfect for cool weather. Nice work, Mary Ann.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that quote true! Funny and painful at the same time.

DeleteSweet cap and mittens for a tiny one! Love the yarn.
ReplyDeleteHopefully they'll share a picture when it gets worn!
DeleteHi Maryanne wow what a beautiful knitted set,the colours are perfect, well done my friend xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Sheryl! These two came about simply because I had leftover yarn.
