As promised, here are the photos of the outside of the snippet roll needle case. You can click to embiggen them if you'd like.
and this photo gives a better idea of the length....
Now it remains to be seen if anyone likes it enough to
want to learn how to make one for themselves!
MA Dear this old rusty car Quilt is my favorite...I believe...so far. While on our massive road trip I never saw any fabulous old barns or cars or anything to photo for you and I was very disappointed. Love love love your CQ Snippet Roll. Your links always add lots of inspiration and ideas...if only they also came with added hours. LOL
ReplyDeleteSo I can blame all this weight gain on my shampoo! And I use a lot of shampoo with my waist length hair!! Hahaha
I don't have long hair - so what's my excuse? Thank you for thinking of me while you were on your trip - I appreciate it! And yes, I know exactly what you mean about wishing the links came with the added hours to actually ACT on them.
Deletebwah ha ha ha!!! that explains so much - i'm gonna hafta move the dish detergent into the bathroom...
ReplyDeleteLet me know how it goes! (welcome to my little corner of the world Dianne - nice to have you visit!).
DeleteGroan :)
ReplyDeletehee hee - 'tis a groaner, but funny anyway
DeleteI do love that old car wall hanging. So much detail and texture. I also love your CQ needlecase too.
ReplyDeleteI rather like the old car myself - looking forward to doing more if I can find some good photos. Needlecase certainly wasn't because I need another one, just needed another sample for the quild guild to have on display to encourage signups for the workshop.
DeleteI see what you mean! The sandbox tent is amazing.
ReplyDeleteHow I wish I'd thought of that sandbox tent when our boys were little - we could have definitely used it. Sure would have saved a lot of time searching for 'treasures' left by the neighbourhood cats!
DeleteYour project in the header is great, beautiful stitching, embellishing and texture!
ReplyDeleteYour needle case roll is looking gorgeous too.
And thanks for the link to using left over fine sock yarn for lovely scarves, good idea for the cooler weather.
Thanks Janie! Nice to have some ideas for what to do with those odd balls of sock yarn that are lurking in our stashes, for sure.
DeleteLove the outside of the needle case. So many fun and clever things you've done. Things that I missed at first, tickled me when I saw it on a second look through the pictures (like the tiny butterflies following a stitched path. And a flower made with heart-shaped beads). So many lovely details. And I love that you put your old car quilted picture as your header. It will be fun to look at that some more as we pop into your blog!
ReplyDeleteWow Becki- you must have really inspected the photos to see all those details! I was initially just going to go with the embroidered seams and very little embellishment, but I simply couldn't. It just wasn't my style!
DeleteI did! Isn't that why you put all those clever details into a crazy quilt project? It's like an embroidered "hidden objects" or "search and find" game. :)
DeleteAn 'I Spy' I guess!
DeleteI laughed so much!!
ReplyDeleteLove your needleroll ..... just beautiful, and especially in those colours! Hope you have lots of people sign up to make one!
Love, love, love your “rusty car” header ..... it’s amazing!
Hugs,
Barbara xx
Thanks Barbara. I laughed too, so simply had to share that one. My samples for the workshop are this black one and the other is in ecru colours, so people can see possible options. There are a few people signed up already apparently, but whether they'll get enough to fill the class remains to be seen.
DeleteThanks for the chuckle! Lovely needle roll.
