What else is new? A dose of mumblings!

######## A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT #######
Just wanted to remind you that some of your
comments are still not coming through to my
email inbox so I will try my best to reply to
you directly on my blog.  Please, if you don't
receive a response, don't think I'm ignoring you!
I appreciate hearing from you so much!!

Alas I seem to have no pictures of my work available to show you today.  It's been one of those weeks where I was being 'social' and there was precious little in the way of creativity happening.  I can, however, lead you to what I'm working on in the evenings.  If you go HERE and scroll down to the bottom and notice the blue and white sweater on the right you'll see.  Mine will be somewhat different and I will be sharing a picture as soon as I get it done.  Seems to me there's a wee grandson out there that just 'happens' to be a fan of Chase and so a doting grandma can't let this opportunity pass her by.

A bit of a report re 'Jack's balls' - yesterday was laundry day and we gave them a test run.  We used two balls per dryer load and they seem to work!!  The true test will come in the winter when static is more of an issue but for now we're quite pleased.  One of my blog readers (thank you!) said that she uses four at a time with good success so we'll have to keep doing test runs to see what might work best for us.  Jack just might have to make some more!

Today's quote..."No matter how educated, talented, rich or cool you believe you are, how you treat people ultimately tells all.  Integrity is everything"

  3. Oh my those Japanese quilts are fabric in motion! Absolutely breathtaking! I was fussing this week with only 1 quilt block I'm making with 1 inch squares taking me over 5 hours! I can't imagine the time it took to do one of those. Thanks for the update on "Jack's Balls."

  6. I was hoping Blogger got fixed for comments...however I did a new post and have had zero comments except my own. You are the BEST Grandma ever. I am going to be a Great Grandma this Fall so I have picked up knitting needles to make a baby blankie for my new little Great Granddaughter. My knitting skills are terrible but I am very motivated. Your links will help me and I thank you. Paw Patrol Bliss...<3

  7. The article on picking up stitches omits the part where you pick up, count, go back and pick up the right number, then knit. It's high risk for some of us to plunge in, picking and knitting in one mad swoop. Amazing how technical you can get with knitting. But it is engineering after all.

  10. That sweater is adorable! Can't wait to see the one you knit up for your grandson. Will be very curious to hear about the use of the wool dryer balls in the winter. That static electricity is a pain. The only thing I can manage to conquer it with is Static Cling spray - and that's about as far away from natural wool dryer balls as you can get.

    1. The sweater is nearly done. If the button band wasn't giving me fits (proving, once again, that I am not a proficient knitter) it would be finished. The buttons came (all the way from Ireland!) yesterday and I can't wait to see it put together.

  11. Ooops... I meant Static Guard. Static Cling would be a silly name for an anti-static spray. lol

  12. I've saved many of today's links to check back later. Some 'good stuff' there. We don't use anything in the dryer and static doesn't seem to be an issue. Can't use dryer sheets in any case, because of the asthma issue with DH. Asthma triggered with ALL scents.

  13. So glad to hear Jack’s Blue Balls are working well. My husband says, “Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching.”
