My drawer of #4 weight yarn is overflowing with small 'bits of balls' and, since I hate throwing yarn out, I decided that I would make small donation blankets for the humane society. A search online led to a size suggestion of 24x24". So far I've done two and a third (and likely the last, at least for now) is well underway. Just a simple granny square works fine.
- THIS would make a wonderful gift for a neighbour, a senior, or someone who works long hours.
- A selection of THESE would make a great gift too (scroll down for the recipe)
- Be sure to invite me over if you decide to make THIS!!!! Or THIS!!
- There are multiple links HERE to recipes for making truffles (note - see above)
- I think we might try to make some of THIS
- Perhaps one of THESE ideas would make a nice gift?
- There are some fun ideas HERE for your Christmas decor.
- HERE is another nice idea for a gift, especially if it came with perhaps a book or some bubble bath.
- THIS is a fun idea for presenting a gift of fudge.
Today's quote..."This year, instead of worrying about what's under the tree, just maybe be grateful for who's still here to be around it"
Thank you for the pickled garlic idea. That's going to happen here. I used to make animal blankets for a local cat rescue. I have many pictures of kitties holding on with all four paws to their blankies! They took them to their forever home as their luggage.
ReplyDeleteFirst time we've tried the garlic so hopefully it will be good. Have to wait at least 3 weeks before we can taste test them for optimum flavour.
DeleteOur humane society is always hugely grateful when I land in there with some old towels or bedding so hopefully these will come in handy somehow.
Oh, that pretzel bark sounds (and looks) wonderful. Keep me from temptation.......
ReplyDeletehee hee - temptation is what I'm all about!
DeleteNeat little crocheted blankies:))) Love those bright colors stacked together in rows nice work ...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThanks! Hopefully the kitties will cuddle with them.
DeleteSherry of createology: Your blankets are a wonderful idea and gift to the Humane Society. So many great links dear. Today’s quote is so right on. As hubby and I continue to age we are very grateful for friends and family who are still with us.
ReplyDeleteThe blankets are a win/win I think - stash reduction and a donation where it's needed. Glad you enjoyed the links!
DeleteMJ: Merry Christmas to you and your family: What a wonderful idea to use your leftover yarn, your heart is very beautiful.

awww - thank you! I'm on a constant quest to use up stash but it seems like I'm barely making a dent.
