I just realized that I forgot to show you the finished crochet fusion quilt project...
And here are a couple (poor photos, sadly!) closeups...
- HERE is one of my 'awwww's' and there's another one HERE (I know it's a paid pattern but it's still an 'awwwww')
- If you don't like moths, don't look at THIS!
- I like THIS little guy! I don't need another dragon overseeing my sewing room but if I did, I'd be tempted.
- Proof that people can make art out of pretty much anything - go HERE.
Today the quote is from Maya Angelou..."Develop enough courage so that you can stand up for yourself - and then stand up for somebody else"
The apartment block from a desktop is great!
ReplyDeleteGood!
DeleteCrochet Fusion quilt is really lovely...nice work hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThank you - I'm pretty happy with it although I'm going to change the next one somewhat I think.
DeleteMy goodness, how I love this quilt! The outside edging is gorgeous! You have probably already told us, but is this quilt another gift or does it stay with you?
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a gift - heading for the Christmas box as we speak. (and thank you!)
DeleteWow you finished that fast and it's lovely! Are you keeping it or is it a gift?
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not for moi - going in the Christmas box for gifting.
DeleteMary Anne, that fusion quilt is fabulous. A work of art. Love it. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThe apartment block, well, what imagination and patience some people have. Amazing.
Val (UK)
Thanks Val! And yes, some people are very blessed to have that sort of patience and imagination.
DeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you - hopefully the recipient will like it too.
DeleteGreat fusion quilt. Awesome job.
ReplyDeleteLove the apartment block out of the computer components. Amazing what people think of.
God bless.
Thanks Jackie. I've always been fascinated by miniatures so that certainly caught my eye.
DeleteOh, your fusion quilt is beautiful! Blue is your favorite color - how can you bear to give it away?!?
ReplyDeleteThanks Cathy. No hardship to give it away because I don't need it for myself...there's already plenty of blankets in our household.
DeleteI love it Mary Anne, beautiful finish! Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteI'm happy with it. It was a fun project to do and I'm looking forward to starting another one.
DeleteI saw your Fusion Quilt back when you first posted, but it didn't click with me that it was fabric connected by crochet. It's beautiful. What a great way to use up scrap fabrics! How did you create the holes to crochet through? I recently acquired a rotary cutter that does that for my flannel blanket projects. It surely would work on cotton.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to note that there's a rotary cutter that will do the job, but I simply did a row of embroidered blanket stitch around the outside of each fabric square and used that as the base for my crochet stitches. I made a template marked with the spacing for the blanket stitches so I made sure there was an even number on each side.
DeleteOh my goodness the quilt is beautiful and adding crochet is an amazing idea.
ReplyDeleteIt is so much fun seeing the links you post, the bunny is so tiny and adorable, I love the dragons.

There are lots of ideas out there for crochet fusion quilts and I couldn't resist giving it a try.
DeleteGlad you enjoy the links!
Sherry of createology: Hello Sweet MA. Your fusion quilt is lovely and I really love the crocheted outer finish. Very cute tiny Amiguramis. My fingers can’t do tiny anymore. I hope you are not snowed in. We are getting flurries only.
ReplyDeleteMy fingers don't want to do much of anything anymore but I work through it - although I won't be attempted any of those teeny little things anytime soon.
DeleteSnow is due to start later this afternoon and dire warnings of all sorts of miserableness over the next day or so.
Your fusion quilt looks both cozy and pretty, Mary Anne. And that is a pretty and sweet border.
ReplyDeleteI think it will be nice to snuggle up beneath on a cold winter's day such as this one.
DeleteI love how cozy your fusion quilt looks - I bet it is too!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think it will be toasty warm for those chilly nights...hope so anyway!
DeleteI love your fusion quilt Mary Anne! It’s beautiful! Hugs, Barbara xx (The Flashing Scissors)
ReplyDeleteThank you Barbara! I'm currently awaiting a shipment of more fabric to make another one.
DeleteOooh, that looks so pretty, I love those colours together.
ReplyDeleteConsidering the yarn came from an online shop it worked out really well. Hope, after the next fabric comes, that I can find an equally good yarn colour.
