Hexie-ing along

Rows of white hexies have been added to the purple 'flowers' and next up will be adding the rows of green.  It's going to take awhile because there are a lot of them and of course it's all done by hand.  The greens are going to be more of a scrappy look than the flowers.

- You can go HERE to find out more about a sweet little stitch- along that's upcoming.

- Some of you might find THIS a fun project.

- Have a peek through the gallery of THIS artist!

- Have a look at the works in the gallery of THIS artist - be sure to hover over each picture and see what she's used in her creations.

- Sometimes the simplest things can be just what you need as you can see from THIS.

- And, if you're like me, and end up with snarled bobbins, how about THIS idea?

Today the quote is by Dolly Parton..."Why wouldn't I stand up for everybody, for all people? In the country field, we're brought up in spiritual homes, we're taught to 'judge not lest you be judged'.  We're supposed to love one another.  We're supposed to accept and love one another"

    1. I'm determined to finish this project if it kills me (and it just might!). If it were in shades of blue I would be happier but I'm going with what I have.

    1. I'm glad there's only 18 blocks to do because it's mind numbing stitching.

  4. The green will be lovely. I used to save the plastic packing straps from the catalog bundles we used to get at school and started weaving them, but quickly gave up. Maybe I should have added some zip ties. Great links.

  5. Wow, you got those taken apart and back together quickly. They all look great with their golden middles.

    1. I didn't have to take the purple flowers apart (luckily) and just had to add the white pieces. It will take me longer to add the greens.

  6. The hexies are coming along nicely. You seem to have stitched them up very quickly, so I am sure it won't be long before the greens are added!! Loved that scrap scarf! Hugs Christine xx

    1. I'm working on the greens now, but they're going to take awhile to do. Next up on the agenda will be to find some wide-back fabric for the background and the backing.

    1. I wish I could wave a magic wand and have the quilt done! If I so much as mention making another quilt I hope my entire readership rises up and reminds me how much I hate the entire process. Like making hexies, but actually doing something with them is something else entirely!

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
