I've made some more progress on my fusion crochet quilt and am now working at putting the strips together as you can see from the photo below. Once they're together I will decide what I will do for a border around the outside. I will have at least one (possibly 2) balls of yarn extra so I'll have enough for a nice border to finish it off.
Resident Chef has been playing about with his sourdough and has attempted to dry some to see if it can be reconstituted (read about it somewhere and thought he'd try it). Here's the first step...
Today the quote is from Henry David Thoreau..."That man is richest whose pleasures are the cheapest"
Your crochet/quilt is looking fabulous--love the color you are using to crochet it together...nice work hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThe green yarn is really pretty - even nicer in real life I think. I'm happy with it so far.
DeleteThe fusion blanket is looking really nice! Are you enjoying the process?
ReplyDeleteI'm happy with it Vicki - and actually am looking forward to making a second one if I can find an appropriate fabric to use.
DeleteNo. You should not worry about hubby dehydrating sourdough. I did catch the recording of the sourdough "lesson" I had signed up for yesterday and Melissa K Norris talked about dehydrating it. I came away from the whole thing overwhelmed and not sure how much I really want to invest in the process, so keep posting about it (as you're inclined) and maybe Resident Chef's creations will inspire me to consider it again.
ReplyDeleteI like seeing the squares come together. I imagine that is going to be a cozy blanket.
We love sourdough and don't expect we'll be going back to store-bought bread anytime soon. Now that Resident Chef has his new Kitchenaid it's much easier to knead the bread too. There are tons of sites online where you can get all sorts of information and of course there's always trial and error.
DeleteThe blanket is pretty - I'd like one for myself but really can't justify it. Instead our two daughters-in-love will benefit.
The quilt is looking really great. Let us know how the reconstitution goes.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
The quilt colours in the photo aren't quite the same as the real thing - hopefully I can get better pictures when I have it finished.
DeleteHow lovely your fusion crochet quilt is.
ReplyDeleteIt's been fun to make so I'm looking forward to making another one once I find appropriate fabric.
DeleteYou never seem to have idol hands. The blanket is going to be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou're right - I don't often sit without something in my hands to do.
DeleteThe fusion quilt looks fabulous. You've done a great job. A lovely crocheted border will enhance it even further. Looking forward to the next one!! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteIt's been fun to make and once I find appropriate fabric I'll happily do another.
DeleteSherry of createology : Your fusion crochet quilt is coming along beautifully. Resident Chef really has a method here I think. Summer sunshine is making Winter Chill a little more tolerable. Nice quote MA. Have a wonderful week dear.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed making the fusion quilt and look forward to making another one at some point before too long. Resident Chef's experiment was a success so he's happy.
DeleteI really like your fusion quilt. I'm going to have to go back and look for that link to the directions. I'm also saving those directions for the Lego tissue box cover. My GS would love it I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteThe Lego tissue box cover is on my to-do list too - great for Christmas gifts for the grandies I think.
Deleteas always great links.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoy them!
DeleteThat's one of Hank's best thoughts. I think ;)
ReplyDeleteHe had a lot of them!
