and....another finish!

I spend my evenings in front of the tv with Resident Chef with either my knitting needles or crochet hook in hand and this is the latest project I finished...

For some reason it seems my photos are all coming out slightly out of focus.  Could be because it's dull outside, or maybe the camera is getting old OR (gasp) human error!

- Fun to see some of the things that can be made from paper HERE

- Some of you might enjoy reading THIS - the first part of a series of articles on her process (links to the further series posts are at the bottom of this post)

- There's another 'awwwwww' thing HERE (scroll down to the wee one in the pink outfit)

Today the quote is from Ralph Waldo Emerson...

  1. I like the paper items! And have you tried polishing your camera lens? Sometimes they get blurry with being handled. I've found more than once that this is a solution.

    1. Polishing the lens - well now, that just might be the entire problem! Will test it and see (thank you!).

Oh Mary Anne, reading about Salley Mavor - what an amazing artist she is. I absolutely love her work.
Those socks look lovely and warm, you are one clever gal ! I also like the Awww moments you show us - and this little mouse is such a sweetie, but I don't think I could work that small.

    1. I love her work too - something I wish I could see in person.
Glad you enjoy the 'awww' moments and I'm with you in loving the wee mouse but far too small to contemplate doing myself.

  3. Someone is going to rock those socks! I follow Salley Mavor too. I think I have one of her books around here someplace.

    1. Thank you for the reminder about her books - I'll have to see if our library has any. As for the socks, our entire family likes them so there's no shortage of takers.

  4. Lovely socks. I had the same problem with one of my pictures this week as well.

    God bless.

    1. My camera gets pretty much daily use and I've had it for too many years to count so it might be the problem but I'm going to try what Boud suggested and clean the lens.

Sherry of createology: MA you are so prolific at knitting socks. They sure would feel cozy on a cold winter day like today. I adore Sally Major and her handcrafted works of art. I adore Amigurami and the wee little mice are precious. Excellent quote dear.

    1. I don't knit socks half as quickly as other people seem to be able to do. I don't keep at them and only work on them when I'm more or less between projects or I take them along when I'm having coffee with a friend and work on them then.

  7. I do admire people that can knit socks - I knit "a little" but would never attempt something like a pair of socks! These are lovely - well done.

    1. Socks really aren't that difficult (at least not the pattern I always use) but they do take time to make. I can't churn them out as fast as some people, although I wish I could.

  9. For a long time I thought all my photographs were slightly out of focus when I downloaded them to my laptop. Then it occurred to me to look at them with my glasses ON. It fixed about 90% of them. That other 10% still bugs me though!

    1. Ha ha - glasses ON - amazing what a difference that makes! Alas not the problem in this case though.

    1. I love using yarn that designs itself. Hopefully they'll keep one of our boys toasty warm next winter.

  11. I can't believe I'm so far behind catching up on your blog. So sorry, I've been distracted quiet a bit by life. I'm still amazed how busy your fingers stay, but what better to do on these cloudy cold days especially to be able to sit beside your special one. The moss embroidery site is super interesting.

    1. No worries! It's not that my blog is going anywhere and you won't miss much anyway. Seems to me I lead a pretty boring life (but I guess that's a good thing)
