Over the weekend I finished working on the landscape and must admit I'm glad I was working on a snow scene inside where it's nice and warm!
FOR SALE!
Thank you Michael!
The finished landscape measures approx. 30x24" and includes applique, paint, coloured pencil, machine stitching and embroidery. There's also lots of sparkle on the trees and the snow but unfortunately that doesn't pick up in the photos.- I thought THIS was intriguing, but I'd like to see if there's a way to create it without glueing directly to the bowl. I think hot glue would make too much bulk too so I'd be tempted to go the watered down white glue route and just wait out the drying time. Perhaps cover the bowl with plastic wrap prior to adding the strips too.
- THIS is one of those 'awwww' things - so pretty!
- Since you peeked at the 'awww' thing, how about you go back with a cuppa and have a look through her printables and other tutorials HERE.
- Have a look through the gallery of THIS incredible artist!
Here is your quote of the day..."Your degree is just a piece of paper. Your education is seen in your behavior"
Your snowy landscape is just really beautiful--lovely work on this one...I like how things stretch out over the borders...
ReplyDeletehugs, julierose
Thank you Julierose! I had fun making it, for sure.
DeleteThe landscape is your best yet! It's lovely.
ReplyDeleteaaaw - thank you!
DeleteStunning quilting!
ReplyDeleteAleene's Tacky glue (gold plastic bottle) works better than a plain white glue and hot glue.
I have a piece over 15 years old. The Tacky glue pieces never pop off.
I have Aleene's Tacky glue and use it for many things. I don't think I even have regular white glue in my stash.
DeleteIt turned out beautiful! Those shingles on the front of the building are incredible!
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicki!
DeleteYour artwork is absolutely lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you Debra!
DeleteSuch a talented lady. Love this scene.
ReplyDeleteThe bowl idea is interesting, but like you I think I would go with diluted white glue. I have seen the snippet idea before, I am not sure which of the people I follow did it. Probably Poppypatchwork or Crochet by the Sea or perhaps one of the Australian bloggers I follow.
God bless.
Snippet rolls were, I think, a 'thing' a number of years ago, and now they seem to be enjoying a resurgence. If you look in my sidebar for 'snippet roll' I think there's a couple posts about the one I made back then.
DeleteWhat a beautiful winter scene you have created. You are an amazing artist. Hilltop Post
ReplyDeleteAww thank you, means a lot coming from you when I think you make such amazing dolls!!
DeleteBeautiful - and yay for a finish! I rarely get to say that though it's definitely my own doing. You've made something wonderful, a beautiful interpretation and I love the winter trees.
DeleteYay for a finish indeed! Although now I'm at loose ends until I fully decide on my next project. Think I'll work on something that's been nagging at me for far too long.
DeleteIt is so beautiful, thank-you for sharing your beautiful work with us.
ReplyDeleteThank-you for the links.

DeleteSherry of createology: MA Dear this landscape is beautiful and truly represents the photo. I hope it finds a good home very soon. I hope you and Resident Chef are keeping toasty warm.
ReplyDeleteI hope it finds a good home too, but for now it's residing on my sewing room wall.
DeleteIt's a lot warmer today than it was over the weekend - thankfully!
The texture on the cabin in your newest finished art work is spot on.
