Remember me sending you to see fusion crochet quilts a few posts ago? Well, I was inspired to attempt making one and yesterday this arrived in the mail...
The floral fabric will be the front and the back will be the leaf print. Now I await the arrival of yarn to join the blocks together. IF it works out, it will be the first addition to the Christmas box for 2023.
And...the current state of the latest landscape...
- THIS is an interesting concept. There are more ideas HERE.
- Have a scroll through the artworks of THESE amazing guys!
- Another of my 'awwwww' moments HERE. Another use for my yarn stash perhaps!
- THIS would be cute to make for Valentine's Day.
- Another 'awwww'....HERE. And another one HERE!
Today's quote..."Sometimes you have to let go of the picture of what you thought life would be like and learn to find joy in the story you are actually living"
I like that quotation! And the one about giving up wishing you'd had a better past!
ReplyDeleteI think that quote is good advice for most of us.
DeleteI think you'll enjoy making the fusion quilt. I seem to remember seeing some a couple of years ago and they were beautiful. Love the latest landscape. Have a lovely weekend. Christine xx
ReplyDeleteFusion quilt is underway as we speak - busily putting squares together and awaiting a shipment of yarn which I hope will blend with the fabric.
DeleteLove the stress free doodle stitching! The quite is nice, but given my personality, there is no reality good enough without cannolis. :)
ReplyDeleteDoodle stitching is always fun, provided we don't let our perfectionism get in the way!
DeleteAll good stuff and the free links to adorable stuff is much appreciated. You are so talented and I wanted to let you know it today. I am a bit of a lurker when it comes to commenting. Have a great crafty day!💖
ReplyDeleteHi Susan - welcome! Glad you enjoy the links and thank you for the kind words.
DeleteI love the addition of the snow drifts--really nice.
ReplyDeleteMy crochet is VERY HOLEY!!! I don't know if I like it ;000 and whether I will
continue...I love the pictures I see, but mine looks so different...;000 and so it goes hugs, Julierose
Perhaps just change the stitch you're using?? Crochet is, by nature, rather holey so perhaps what you're getting is normal.
DeleteFinding joy in the life we are living is the only way. I am looking forward to seeing the fusion quilt.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I have a good start on the quilt but have to wait for yarn to arrive because, wonder of wonders, my stash didn't have anything the correct colour.
Deleteas always, I love your links that you share!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoy them! I certainly have fun searching for them.
DeleteI don't understand. I don't pop in here for a few days and you're half-way (or more) done with a new landscape! It looks beautiful, Mary Anne. Your fabrics are pretty! Now I need to go check out fusion crochet...
ReplyDeleteHah - proves you should check in once in awhile because you just never know what I might be up to!
DeleteI am really looking forward to seeing the quilt progress.
ReplyDeleteThank-you for the links.
Catherine
The quilt is coming along but now I'm at the point where I have to spend a lot of time buttonhole stitching around each block prepping for the crocheting that's to come.
DeleteSherry of createology: MA Dear you are so quick with your posts I have not been able to keep up. Your new landscape will be wonderful. Love the fabrics you have chosen for your fusion quilt. This weather buries my mojo. Come on Sunshine!
ReplyDeleteI pretty much try to stick to a 3x week schedule for posts so you're not that far behind!
DeleteHmmm, blue fabric. Who would have guessed? LOL!
ReplyDeleteha ha - but this one isn't for me. Just so happens one of our daughters-in-love likes blue too.
DeleteI love the landscape!! Anything with snow... makes me feel a bit cooler in our summer heat! xx
ReplyDeleteI'll take some of your summer heat!
