First of all, happy 2023 to you all! Hope it's all you wish it to be.
Over the weekend I finished the landscape and here it is...
FOR SALE!!
- THIS is a rather pretty crochet pattern.
- I like THIS idea - can think of a few people who would appreciate it (me included!)
- THIS is the beginning of a great project that you could do using fabric and yarn from your stash. There are lots of different variations to be found on the internet (just put 'fusion quilt' into the search engine and you'll see lots of examples). I'm thinking of possible additions to my Christmas box for next year....hmmmm......
- HERE is another of my 'awwwwww' moment things.
Today the quote is courtesy of David Suzuki..."We have become the impatient species, too busy to let nature replenish itself and too puffed up with our own sense of importance to acknowledge our utter dependence on its generosity"
Happy New Year right back at you. Love your Mill Landscape. A view we frequently see in KY now preserved for history. I look forward to the new year of checking out your links.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joy. This landscape was fun to do although I rather doubted I'd be able to do it justice when I first started it.
DeleteI like the heating pad idea, and find there's an ad for the beans at nearly $20. Plus socks. Possibly $25 heating pad. I'm all for DIY, maybe there's a cheaper way. The idea's nice, the numbers not so much!
ReplyDeleteYour new landscape is so good. This one seems to have gone fast. I hope it goes fast to a good new home.
I didn't even look at the ads (I never do!) because I know there's definitely a cheaper way.
DeleteGlad you like the new landscape - I didn't have anything else on my plate so I was able to work at it more than I would be able to normally. I'd love it if it went to a new home too, but I'm not holding my breath!
I really like those "lacey" Falls over your border--such a creative idea!! I really think this one is especially lovely...
ReplyDeleteI am making difficult decisions right now as to what to "take on" --there are so many projects that I would love to sew along with---BUT...[no, no, Julie--try to be smart;)))] I know the garden embroidery is a year-long one that I will definitely be stitching; my crumb blocks for my grandgirls' lap quilts; and my next YouTube sew along that follows the two journals.. And of course, those UFO's to finish...hugs, Julierose
That's one thing about us - we never have time to get bored!!
DeleteI love the water coming out of the framed area of your art piece. Inspired and lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteIt always amazes me how your landscapes look so much like the photo. You have an incredible talent, Mary Anne! With every new landscape I am in awe with the finished work of art you have created!
ReplyDeleteawww, thank you Kim!
DeleteThis is your best landscape yet! I also now get what a fusion quilt is. That's intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Vicki - I learned a lot with this one which is always a good thing considering I'm self-taught.
DeleteAnd yes, I'm intrigued by fusion quilts too.
This is just wonderful Mary Anne, I think it is my favourite! Just love it! xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it Christine, thank you!
DeleteGreat job on the newest landscape! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
Deletethat landscape is stunning you are very talented! Great links as always!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I enjoy what I do although sometimes it's a struggle to get the effect I want.
DeleteAnother fabulous finish! I love that you have the water spilling out, perfect.
ReplyDeleteI figured the water needed to be spilling over. Thank you!
DeleteOh my! I'm very behind here. That scene is beautiful both in the photograph, and in your quilted landscape. Going now to catch up and watch your progress. You're amazing, Mary Anne!
ReplyDeleteThe photo certainly caught my eye and I tried to do it justice. It was hard to know when to quit adding details.
DeleteI love your new landscape. It's really wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary Ann! I'm happy with it.
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lorraine!
DeleteWow your landscape is totally awesome and beautiful! Hilltop post
ReplyDeleteThank you! It sure helps when I have a great photo to work from.
DeleteWow, Mary Anne! I absolutely LOVE this one! I'm just catching up on blog-reading after a slightly challenging week, and here's your latest stitched landscape FINISHED! I was just saying (in my blog) how your projects seem to get finished almost as soon as they are begun! I wish I was more like you :)
ReplyDeleteI'm blessed with a Resident Chef who does the cooking and helps with the housework, freeing me to do what I love. That explains why I get so much done. Sometimes I don't start posting about a project here until it's actually done so it just LOOKS as though I'm working fast!
DeleteHappy New Year and oh, the painting is just beautiful!!! You are sooooo talented! xx
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you as well. Actually it's not a painting - it's all fabric.
DeleteMary Anne, the landscape is just beautiful. The water looks like it's actually flowing. Wonderful picture you created!
ReplyDeleteThank you! And I'm happy that you think the water looks as though it has movement!!
