A little bit of progress

You will have seen that there's been an 'extra' post that shows my commissioned and sold landscapes that I put up last night.  It's for my own reference so I can easily see which ones have sold without having to haul out the pile and go through them.  Sorry about the repeats!

Yes, there's been a bit of progress on the new landscape as you can see from this photo....

And...I finished the 'supposed-to-be-a-scarf' cowl and I think it turned out okay.  My trusty magpie was happy to model it for me....

- THIS is a great little sweater for a baby.  Might have to make one of these!

- And HERE's another one of those things that just made me saw 'awwwww'.

- And THESE are just as cute! Be sure to scroll down!

Today's quote is from Mahatma Gandhi..."Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed"

    1. Preprinted fabric to the rescue on that - but with some tweaks on my part!

  2. That sweater is a knockoff of one I knitted years ago, just felt like it. Then I had to look for a baby to give it to! It did find a little wearer eventually.

    1. I have a 'little' it would fit right now so I might just be inspired to knit it - not that I suppose she really needs another sweater!

  3. The fuzz balls as ornaments! What a cute tree they will make. The chipmunk is huge cute.

    1. You're right - they would be perfect for a tree. I've always liked chipmunks so of course that one caught my eye.

  4. Your latest landscape is turning out beautifully. I also have been admiring the sky. What fun to see all of your wonderful pieces in one post.

    1. Those weren't all my landscapes but just the ones that have been sold. I have a further category in my sidebar that lists the landscapes that are still for sale. So far I'm pretty happy with the current effort but of course it isn't done yet!

  5. Love the baby sweater. I might have to do a couple as well. Neighbour is having a baby come August so these would make a lovely gift.

    God bless.

    1. I like that sweater design - no worries about it fitting over the baby's head.

  6. Every time I think you're finished with that piece, you make it even better!
I like that as a cowl, nice to have something different than a scarf.

    1. Oh, I'm a long way from being finished with this one! There's tons of embroidery being added now.
I like cowls better than scarves, simply because they're less likely to get caught in the car door - AND they're far faster to knit!!

  7. “Our” outhouse is looking very real…just like I remembered. Love your red cowl scarf. I tried felting and after creating one little hedgehog I never felted again. I love what others create with felting little cuties. Need over Greed…what a wonderful concept!

    1. Needle felting intrigues me and I tried it a couple of times - to the detriment of my fingers. Don't think that much blood loss is good for me!

  8. It seems I often have to go back to see if something I notice suddenly was added, or if it was always there. Sure enough... I like the addition of the (would you call it warped?) wood sticking out on the side of the outhouse. I'm sure there are other new things, that one just stuck out at me, and it's a great addition.

    1. Loose boards are what I was going for. No matter - they can be warped too!! It will partially be covered up with embroidery so will blur the lines somewhat.

    2. Yes, they look like loose boards. That's it. They would have become loose because they became warped, I suppose.

    3. No doubt they ARE warped - or the building itself is.

  9. Really enjoying seeing this landscape come together Mary Anne. I keep a record of my finishes by creating a project page. It is quite straight forward - no different than writing a post. You can either keep it privately or you can post it publicly if you want to. If you'd like me to walk you through it via email I'd be happy to. You can see my pages using the links on the righthand sidebar of my blog but these can appear as tabs across the top of the page if you want them to. Hugs Christine xx

    1. I have links in my sidebar - one is to 'landscapes' (which shows my works in progress) another that's labeled 'landscapes for sale' and now this new one that lists the 'landscapes commissions and sales'. It's all there altho' I do agree that having tabs across the top of the page would be helpful. I have NO clue how to go about adding that feature so if you have any tips I'd definitely appreciate them!

    2. I tried to see how it could be done Mary Anne and there is an option within the 'page gadget' on the 'layout' section within Blogger which says you can choose for the tabs to be under the header. I experimented to see if I could make this happen but I couldn't so I am not sure that I can be much help after all! Sorry Christine xx

    3. No worries Christine - thank you so much for trying! The system I have works, but I do admit to being curious to know how people get the extra tabs across the top. Perhaps they know how to code and can figure it out that way.

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
