I've been working on the outhouse project but have nothing that's notable to show you as yet. Everything I've done involves yawn-worthy things like sandwiching batting and interfacing and then basting. Kinda boring really.
So....instead....I thought I'd show you the beautiful orchid that I treated myself to....
In case you can't tell from the photo, it's a mini-orchid. I've never had any luck with them re-blooming but at least I know I can enjoy the blooms for as long as they last.
- Although none of us are doing much traveling right now, perhaps making one of THESE might be useful for other things.
- Maybe you'd like to try making some of THESE?
- And aren't THESE cute? Lots of uses for them!
- THESE are really pretty and would make a lovely gift. Further in the same vein (see what I did there?) THESE are targeted towards kids but why couldn't adults make them as well? And HERE is another version that would use lots of scraps.
- HERE is another fun idea that has a number of uses.
- And THIS one too!
Today I found this quote for you....
The mooshy bellies are adorable!
Must admit the mooshy bellies made me think of the Pillsbury Dough Boy.Delete
That's a beautiful orchid. I've found that they like an eastern exposure best with good but not direct light. Good luck with it. And I've bookmarked a few of those links today. I love the tag idea and think I can use that fabric "tissue" paper that they wrap flowers in instead of dryer sheets which we tear up to use sparingly only if they're fragrance free. The wrapping I currently have is purple, but I've seen it in other colors too. Thanks so much for sharing!!!ReplyDelete
Thank you for the tip re the orchids. We do have eastern exposure but they don't seem to be happy in an apartment. Maybe the air quality isn't quite what they like. Glad you found something interesting in the links!Delete
I love your beautiful orchids. You always share the best quotes.ReplyDelete
I have a thing about quotes so I have lots to share!Delete
the orchid color is so gorgeous--fabric in that color would be heavenly!!ReplyDelete
I love all the bowl making links--thanks they are pretty aren't they? hugs, Julierose
Yes, fabric in that could would be so pretty (or better yet, I'd love an outfit that colour).Delete
Beautiful orchid Mary Anne, I really love them in the house and have been (to my surprise) quite successful getting them to bloom again. I think the secret positioning them correctly and not overwatering them. Love your quote today! Hugs Christine xxReplyDelete
I could be guilty of overwatering but I'm not sure. I read somewhere that you should just give them an ice cube and I've tried that but no luck. They stay alive but never rebloom.Delete
When I make a quilt for someone, that's when I realize I only think time is put in on making the quilt top, the quilting & binding. Actually, I put in a good 4 hours or more (which I count as a day's work now} sandwiching the thing! So I know what you mean when you feel like you have no progress to show, yet you've done a lot of work on the Outhouse.ReplyDelete
The little Mooshy Belly Bunny reminds me of a stuffed doll of sorts my aunt gave me when I was a child. The back had a zipper where I stuffed my pajamas for the day giving it a poofy belly.
Now, once again, thank you for featuring my bottom of the barrel tags. My viewing numbers always jump way up when you share one of my posts.
Can't wait to see the out house. A very few are still seen in the countryside of Kentucky these days.
I had a stuffed Lassie dog that was a PJ holder when I was a kid. I loved that dog and ended up wearing pretty much all the 'fur' off him. My aunt thought she was doing me a favour and bought me a new Lassie but it was not MY Lassie so I never took to it. I finally got rid of him when we moved here.Delete
Interesting to know that my linking to your posts lead to a jump in your viewing numbers....who knew!!!
I love your beautiful new Orchid. I never have any luck with them reblooming. Great links once again dear. Happy Valentines Sweet MA.ReplyDelete
I am always hopeful that I can get them to bloom again but they insist on staying just green leaves and with enough life that I can't bring myself to throw them out.Delete
Your orchid is beautiful. And that Mooshy Belly Bunny is adorable. Saving that link!ReplyDelete
Yes, mooshy belly bunnies are on my want to make list for sure!Delete
What a beautiful orchard, I don't think I've seen mini ones before.ReplyDelete
We have mini orchids in our grocery stores quite often and usually they're cheaper than the full-sized ones.Delete
