An ittty bit more

There's been some more progress on the landscape - mostly in the embroidery area in the corner.  Another 4 hours I think - maybe more.

And....on the knitting front I completed this 1898 hat which is destined for the Christmas box.  Yarn is leftover from another project.  Fingers crossed (going to play a game of yarn chicken) there's enough left in the ball to create a pair of mittens too.

The color is more navy than the photo appears

- THIS is one of those strokes of brilliance that I'm definitely going to try!

- Take a peek at the work by THIS amazing artist!  Wonder how many hours go into each of her pieces!

- THIS combines fabric and crochet to make something very pretty.

- THIS is a somewhat different design that would be great for using up scraps of yarn.

- THIS takes you to a pdf for another great scrap yarn project - think it exceeds my level of expertise but it sure is pretty!

Today our hearts are with the Ukraine so instead of a quote I thought I'd share this...

    1. Thanks Christine - I simply can't make a landscape without adding embroidery somewhere.

  2. Just love the Queen Anne's Lace there...I can see why it takes so many long hours of stitching...nice work...
Well, sorry to report that my 2nd sock came out W A Y too big--[maybe "Big Foot/Yeti could use it!!;000] I was on my pain meds
when I worked on that one--talk about knitting loosely--!! I folded it away until I get over it--then I will most likely unravel (ribbit ribbit). Right now I am done with it aaargh!!

    1. Oh no - I'm so sorry about the sock!! They take forever to knit and not having good tension makes it doubly difficult. Most times my tension is a little too tight and I have a hard time moving my knitting from one needle to another.

  3. MA Dear your embroidery is lovely and truly adds the elegant touch to the loo. Such fun and interesting links once again. The little blue knit hat is adorable and I will cross my fingers for you to have enough yarn for mittens. Very cold here however the sun is at least shining. Praying for Ukraine and the people who are so innocent.

    1. Thank you Sherry - every self-respecting loo should have some flowers (at least IMHO)....ours always had morning glories growing up the side. Of course I managed to forget about those until after I'd finished the shrub!
Cold here too - enough already!!!

  4. Your landscapes continue to blow me away!
The 1898 Hat is one of my favorite patterns to knit, and I've made it a couple of times as just an earwarmer, which has worked out even better for me - wearing a "whole" hat gets too hot when I'm doing chores, but I wear one of those earwarmers nearly every day all winter long. Just love the clever way that pattern shapes around your ears!

    1. Thank you Quinn!
I think the guys in our family will like this style of hat and I'm toying with making the earwarmers for the girls. Good to know you like them

  5. I know I say it all the time but I do love seeing the progress you make with all those flowers and grasses. Work your needle magic! That link with the embroidered landscapes was a nice treat for the eyes too!

    1. I think I enjoy the embroidery part the most even though it does take time.
And yes, I loved that link too - sure wish I could see her work in person!

  6. Love the additions.

I also love the poncho, which could be something I could easily do.

    God bless.

    1. I like the poncho too but it's not something I think I would ever wear. Could convert it into a blanket though (I think!).

  7. Your embroidery looks so rich. This is going to be a beautiful piece. And that hat looks cute! Somebody's head will enjoy that come next winter. :)

    1. Hah - thank you for saying the embroidery looks rich - now if I could just translate that into sales I'd end up with more storage space.
Hopefully there will be a number of heads enjoying these hats after Christmas!
