And....another interruption I'm afraid!

Most of you are aware that my computer has been limping along getting prepped for what I suspect might be a massive melt down any day.  So....new computer has been purchased and it and my old faithful will be spending some quality time together at an undetermined location in order for files to be transferred and all sorts of mysterious 'computer-y processes' that completely befuddle your author will hopefully be performed.  All of that simply means that I'm about to be gone for a few days.  Do try to play nicely amongst yourselves. I will try to use my tablet to keep up with you but comments are likely to be non-existent from here.

- I think THESE are fun!  Scrap buster but different than what you normally see.

- I really like THIS idea - another great use for scraps!

- I sometimes come across novel ideas and THIS is one of them.  Even if you don't join in the challenge at least it should give you food for thought.

- Like many of you I'm sure, I'm seeing all sorts of quilted coats around the internet, so if you're contemplating making one, perhaps THESE tips might come in handy.

- There are some great exercises HERE that are supposed to be for knitters, but I think all of us could benefit, no matter what our area of art might be.

- Karen Ruane is taking registrations for her latest wonderful online class and you can find more details HERE.

  1. I hope you soon get your computer back and working. And those exercises are what I do. Usually standing while I'm waiting for the microwave! They're great for aging shoulders.

    1. I need to pay attention to those exercises because my neck is giving me some issues (could be a two day marathon of quilting at my frame that did it though!).

    1. I hope it goes smoothly too - should be good as long as I'm not the one doing it!

    1. Happy new computer indeed - my old one was seven years old so I guess it had paid its dues (not saying that I don't wish it had lasted a whole lot longer!)

  4. Not much JOY in upgrading to new technology equipment if you are like me who struggles with any new technology. However it is exciting when you get it and it all comes together and works! Best of Luck Dear.

    1. Fingers crossed, the new one is up and running smoothly. A few things are slightly different due to the way the 'guru' set it up, but nothing I can't figure out (at least not so far).

  5. You are so smart to be preemptive about getting a new computer before the old one completely dies. We lost many important files when we lost our computer last autumn. We were sure things were being automatically backed up on the two external hard drives, but the automatic part wasn't working. It was a horrible moment when that was realized. See you when you get back!

    1. Yes, my computer 'guy' was most thankful that I replaced it before it totally died because it was so much easier for him to transfer everything. So far it doesn't look as though I've lost anything.

  6. I'm sure you will enjoy your new computer. It's so hard when they get difficult to work with right when you really need them. .

    1. I do use my computer a lot although I know I certainly don't use it to the full potential. I think the 'guy' was astounded at just how few programs I'm running on it. Made it easier for him to transfer everything!

  7. I hope your old computer cooperates with your new one and you get it soon than later!

    1. By all reports the old and new computers did talk nicely to one another. Apparently there were a couple of hiccups along the way but nothing too extensive (phew!)

  10. Oh Thank you so much for featuring my scrappy pillow! I also enjoyed all the rest of the links on this post. Very useful. Good luck on your new computer. Looks like you will be technology challenged with a new computer AND phone now. You can do it!

    1. The computer is far less challenging than the phone, that's for sure. My 'guy' transferred everything so that it pretty much looks entirely the same as the old version. I think there are a couple of programs he removed but I doubt I was using them anyway so no sad loss.

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
