The last one!.....?

This is the last Christmas present I'm making for this year.  Yes, it is - uh huh - yep - done.

My friend has a habit of keeping notes about her knitting on random pieces of paper that tend to go AWOL so I thought she might have a use for a notebook.  I couldn't give her just any ol' notebook so I gussied it up with embroidery on the front.

The back cover was created using a piece from a blouse she once gave me for use in crafting.  She loved it so hopefully she will like it here too.  The spine is made from a scrap of musical fabric I had (she's musical so I thought it was fitting).  Hope she likes it and gives up on her bits of paper!!

Today's quote..."Conformity is doing what you're told regardless of what's right.  Morality is doing what's right regardless of what you're told"

  1. Beautiful notebook cover--how thoughtful to use that musical fabric;))) I M sure she will love it...
That desk is certainly covetable (is that a word? Don't know but, if it isn't it should be haha)

    1. Oh yes, I'm sure covetable is a word! My spellcheck isn't flagging it, so it must be.

  2. What a wonderful and thoughtful gift. I've taken to writing notes on 4x6 index cards and keeping them in a photo box of that size - a notebook like that would probably be a lot more functional. Loved the video (videos - I looked at more). Like the quote - will be adding that to my notes.

    1. Index cards are a good idea too - but I guess only if you keep them in the box and not all over the house. Not saying she does that, but......
      Glad you enjoyed the video!

    1. At least it should have some meaning for her considering I used the musical fabric AND the remnants of her blouse.

  4. Your friend's notebook is lovely, both front and back. I love there is a remnant of her favourite blouse on one of the chic ladies. It will be a treasured gift. The sewing table/work station is amazing. Fabulous she could design what she needed, then her husband built it. 'Tis every quilter's dream to have a table such as this. Love the quote! I was only saying to my husband last night, after watching yet again another sad news story, that so many have lost their moral compass.

    1. Actually the blouse remnant is the entire back of the notebook, not just a scrap on one of the ladies. It was a Parisian-themed blouse and had line drawings of Paris landmarks and those wonderfully fashionable ladies.
And yes, I agree - moral compasses are sadly lacking in so many these days.

  6. Lovely knitting notebook. I am very sure your friend will love it. I also seem to use bits of paper to keep track of rows.... Now I think I should make myself a notebook.

    God bless.

    1. I used to use pieces of paper too and would end up misplacing them so I went to a notebook years ago and I love it. The cover for this one is removeable so she can simply replace the notebook when she fills this one.

  7. Your friend will treasure your notebook you have created especially for her. I adore Amigurumi but cannot crochet that tiny. Great quote.

    1. I hope she likes it. I don't have a problem with simple Amigurumi patterns but that one is a little too detailed for me to tackle. Very cute though!

  9. Of course she’ll love it! (Wha fiber artist wouldn’t?) I’m impressed that you’re already done with your Christmas makes. Are you totally done, or is there still some shopping to be done?

    1. Totally done (unless something pops into my mind that absolutely HAS to happen between now and then). Much of what I do has to be put in the mail so it's best to get it done early and then, by default, the rest falls into place at the same time. Now I get to work on fun projects that are perhaps just for me (or the baby!).

  10. What a Fabulous gift you made from the pre-owned fabrics. The Notebook will certainly be a Winner with the lovely embroidery added. I'd love to see your friend's face when she opens the gift. I watched 2 of the videos, which are great. I'll check out others later.

    1. Hopefully it will be a winner with my friend, but the even bigger hope is that she will actually use it!
