Motoring onwards

I've been plugging away at the little Christmas stitcheries, as you can see from this photo....

Yesterday was a banner, red-letter, exciting day - we had coffee with our friends that we haven't seen for over a year!  We met in a local park and socially distanced and it was wonderful.  Funny how something so small as having a cup of coffee together ends up feeling like the thrill of a lifetime!

Today's quote..."A cup of coffee shared with a friend is happiness tasted and time well spent"

  1. It is nice to read you had a fun time out and about with friends.
The links are fabulous. Seeing my blog will be fun. The driftwood wall sculptures are very summery and interesting. I like that little watercolor tin. That's a great idea. Now instead of spare masks and gloves, I can put a in watercolors! Thank you

    1. Glad you enjoyed the links - I thought the Altoid tin idea was great for those who paint outdoors.

  2. What a treat to see friends again. It used to seem ordinary, and now we really get what a big deal it is.
I love tiny watercolor sets like the one in your link. I feel like making one even though I rarely paint these days.

    1. The times of the pandemic have certainly changed our perspective on a lot of things, that's for sure. I don't paint, but I expect some people would find that little travel kit useful.

  3. Fabulous you could touch base with your friends after such a long time, again. A treat indeed in these times. You are amassing those little Christmas stitcheries. The Advent calenders are going to be filled with lovely interest and delight. Yes, there are a few companies which publish blog posts into a book. Thank you for the information.

    1. The hardest thing about Covid is not being able to visit with our friends and family. As people get vaccinated, hopefully we can get together more often, even though we will still be cautious about it.

    1. Not only was it nice to be out with friends, but also to have a coffee 'out' - first time since the pandemic hit.

  8. I remember those first few times getting together with people sans masks. It was both terrific and surreal. I'm happy to say I've almost forgotten what mask-wearing was like. I have to remind myself to have one handy - just in case it's required somewhere (though I think all restrictions have been lifted where I am).

    1. We won't be going without masks for a very long time, even after we finally get fully vaccinated (DH will be the end of July and I'm Sept 1, unless something changes). Even then, with the health dept. saying that you can still get the virus (and transfer it) despite being fully vaccinated, we won't be tempting fate and going without masks. There are a lot of people who are vaccinated who are still getting it, so better to be safe than sorry. Besides - there's always that faction of people who are refusing to get the vaccine that are causing problems for the rest of us.
